Wish we could've known more about Dennis Faulk. You have to be a special kind of creepy to get a children's cartoon cancelled.
Oh my god I remember hearing about this guy. What an enigma, I didn’t think the internet had that big of a presence when Tiny Toons aired, the whole story is surreal and I have to wonder if he’s still alive now or not. When’s the last time anyone heard about this guy??

Tiny Toons copped out like any animated show in the early 90s/1ate 80s did: by a holiday special than any proper series finale to coddle kids. Granted, staff were done with the show, feeling they did everything they could with it, along with Animaniacs.

Speaking of the 1990s, OJ Simpson would have to be a personal lolcow for me. Sure, a bit dark, and rather out of nowhere, but OJ was always a man who I associated with total shame and being an embarrassment to society. I was too young to know what he did and why, but he was always treated like a pariah when I grew up: either as a bloodthirsty and cold hearted criminal, or as a total butt of a joke. Little did I learn that later, he was a spoiled shithead who was significant of everything wrong about America. Bought his freedom with riches, got away with murder, and thought he was hot shit after everything, right up until he got caught for stealing his own memorabilia from a sports merchandise store. Plus, the endless amounts of jokes Norm Macdonald tore into him with. lol. This guy was the lolcow of the millennium for me.

Watching old Chris Chan stuff makes me really nostalgic. It's not just that I used to watch Chris, but also all the background stuff.

Reminds me of playing ps3 after getting home from school. I wish there was another one like him. But for that we'd need the surrounding world to be like the one he was in at the time too.

Everythings drenched in pessimism now.
I remember when the worst thing Chris did was record himself fucking a sex doll. It was gross but mostly just funny.
I had no idea how deep things would go.

My first lolcow which i followed many years ago, was a hack video game reviewer by the name of Spax3, who if he didn't jerk off to sonic fanart on deviantart or threatens sonics old voice actor jason griffith (even going so far as to start a petition to remove him from Super Smash Bros. Brawl in 2008), always threatend his critics that he will sue them, because his mom is a lawyer.

Someone made a very in-depth documentary on him:

Chris-chan has already been mentioned for obvious reasons, but I would also agree with AVGN. Both of them bring me back to a much more positive time for my own life and for the internet. I still think that the early AVGN still holds up beyond nostalgia. It's funny enough and is very well produced for the time.

I re-watched a couple of Nostalgia Critic episodes from that era and while they do still have some nostalgic value for me, they really aren't very funny. Plus Doug is a much more personally unpleasant figure than James.

For me it's classic Chris and Spoony. Really liked Spoony back in the day, now I wish he'd suck start a shotgun. Or at least stop whining.

I am at the very tip of the iceberg when it comes to lolcows.. but one that I find myself sort of nostalgic over is Onision— particularly his spouse, Kai.

I thought this earlier in the year and I still hold these feelings now. But whenever I watch Kai’s videos there is this genuine coziness to them? And it’s strange because the constant use of buzzwords annoy the hell out of me, among other things, but her videos seem to always remind me of 2016’s innocence despite all the drama channels that were around at the time.

This is also the reason why I kinda feel some nostalgia towards Amberlynn— despite only following her since her break-up with Becky. She’s boring as heck now but I enjoy seeing her videos with Destiny or even the early Becky era because there’s this air of simpler times behind it all.

TL;DR: life started to suck after 2016 and Kai / Amber reminds me of what once was (:_(.

His fight with Digital Homicide was perhaps the best moment of his career.
No matter my current gripes with Jim (which honestly are pretty minor) what Digital Homicide tried to do to him was fucking bullshit and never should have went as far as it did and if there's anything positive I can say about Jim Sterling it's "Thank fuck he won that court case."

Like it could've been any other way. Their case had so many mistakes and was so blatantly litigant that there was no way for it to win. But it's funny how on top of losing that case they were also banned from Steam.

i remember around a decade ago finding a 40 year old autistic woman on youtube who lived with her dad but most notably was sexually attracted to her xerox or fuji office printer she named luigi. It was extremely funny because she used to do strip teases and lapdances for this big tall office printer and in other videos she would shove her face in the scanner and make face and ass printouts in b&w and that luigi was turned on by 'seeing' them in him. She also used to go into a local Office Depot/Staples and help people learn how to use other printers, go and ask store assistance how to operate printers, get advertisement brochures about printers etc. Loved her dedication, learning how to pleasure on monday, and on friday she would press her boobs up against the plastic doors of Luigi.

As funny and as hooked on her as i was, she only had something like 15 views per video and i remember at the time not wanting to tell everyone i knew and instead kept it to myself as a person to follow and to watch these weekly 2 minute uploads of her molesting Luigis paper tray. She really wasn't harming anyone and i didn't want everyone to know about her either, i just liked her for being an oddball vlogger on the internet and didn't want to spoil her fun. Something must've happened though because whilst her channels still up, she removed all the printer stuff and its just more or less a schizo vlog now with the last upload being 8 years ago.

Makes me wonder what happened to her, and i still dont think i would give out her youtube page. It was just a lulzy woman from a decade ago that provided me with a lot of laughs that thanks to youtubes search algorithm, is very hard to find a similar character. I think i was looking for a guide on how to make a pdf with a printer and found her? I just wish i could find people like this easier, but all the popular uploaders just dominate the search queries, not to mention youtube keeps recommending you videos you've seen a billion times.

Oh god yes. Honestly it's the only moment of his career I like.
Honestly, Jim Sterling strikes me as a guy who used to have intelligent takes. I remember especially his video "I'm Not Saying Emulators are Cool, but..." and "Why it's Morally Okay to Pirate Nintendo." The former talked about this weird tendency among gamers to basically act all hush-hush about emulators and act like they're "wrong," while contradictorally letting companies abuse the producer-customer relationship and, of course, turn a blind eye to the fact that things like the Virtual Console are basically just emulators and ROM files that are officially endorsed. The latter video basically said "if Nintendo doesn't respect your rights, why should you respect theirs?"

He even used to call out Social Justice bullshit. But of course, now he IS social justice bullshit and even did a video saying Steam ought to monitor people's twitter feeds and not accept game submissions from people who have posted wrongthink on Twitter. Avalanche Reviews did a video response to that one, pointing out how insane it is (not that he needed to).

..........

Not related to the above... at the risk of being autistic as fuck, but one thing I hate about game and film reviewers today is it seems like they only either talk about recent shit, or well-known/popular stuff... unless they're heavily focused on just one category. For example one guy I like is SomeCallMeJohnny, but he mostly talks either new stuff, or does long marathons of things like Mario, Sonic, etc. that have already been discussed to death. Another guy I like is named Gmanlives, but he exclusively talks about First Person games (usually shooters, but sometimes stuff like Amnesia too). If I lose interest in FPS, then I have no reason to watch his content.

This is one reason I go back to old Nostalgia Critic or AVGN videos sometimes... these people talk about stuff I might've actually experienced growing up, things I knew about or had heard of or maybe even seen, but didn't think much about. I'd much rather hear about A Troll in Central Park than yet another hot take on the MCU.

He didn't really "win..." the case never went to court at all. The way Jim described it, his lawyer went down and talked to them and literally just had to outline what the mere process of filing a lawsuit would entail--not in a "I'll beat you in court" way, but just explaining that there would be a lot of actual work, the process of discovery, etc... and when they found out it would actually be complicated and require effort, they fucked off.

Troy Rangi was a very... interesting cow to keep up with.

I miss the whole Mumkey Jones trash fire too.

Reading the TimeCube website back when his madness was quoted on 4chan all the time is a fairly nostalgic memory for me, alongside with reading the writings of a mad Euro dude who was a Stalinist and believed that his government had put a microchip in his skull to blast him with noises and voices at all times of day and night, so that he would denounce Communism. He would post X-ray scans of his skull, pointing at incredibly small spots of light (always in a different position, in each scan) and claim that that was the source of the secret agents' voices he heard insulting him over breakfast. I wonder if he ever ended up getting help.

Amazon.com used to have forums. Their book topics were filled with the stupidest angriest people I've ever seen. Their flame wars spilled over into other sites like goodreads and various book blogs. I think their were about 40 people who were in a constant state of tard rage over books they wanted to ban and authors they wanted jailed. Eventually amazon and goodreads cracked down on the autism and the most entertaining posters got banned.

Ginmar was always one of my favorites out of this group. She is still viscous and crazy, but without her posse she has had fewer opportunities to really chimp out. She's also banned from everything so people aren't forced to interact with her.

I remember this guy on a brain scratch commentary episode he was so fucking cringe.

Onision was entertaining until he had kids and now whenever he has a breakdown I'm afraid he's going to go murder his children. Actually even when he's not having a breakdown I'm afraid he's going to murder his children. Or accidentally poison them with shitty vegan foods or run them over.

And Chris definitely. Chris was incredible back in the golden age of Sonichu.

I still kinda mix the peak of the skeptic days from Jan to May 2017. There was so much hope back then that shit might actually turn around.
