I don't even play Dragon Age but I just watched the trailer and wow that looked fucking awful. It looked more like some shitty F2P mobile game.

I wish there was an event for games like Songs of Syx, Starsector, Kenshi, Factorio, and the like. A game developed by one person, or the development team is small and led by creator/developer.
They seem inoculated to the faggotry that infests AAA, AA and other indie titles.
Only thing missing for me is the small team making crpgs so I make due with Owlcat and Larian for better or worse.

It was originally conceptualized as a live-service game. That great idea died on the vine, but some of the design choices they made to that end seem to still linger in the game, at least as this trailer showed.

Truly that was a dark day for gaming. Dark as in there were so many black characters shown that I started cackling by the end. The sheer volume of female protagonists in general was really funny.

People in the YouTube comment section for IGN's overview of this year's Summer Games Fest are delusional. Someone had the audacity to call this the "golden age of gaming" lmao. At least when E3 was live you could just watch that and ignore the rest of the garbage, now you watch to see what garbage is announced and hope you can find what you want... which you probably won't. If the indie games were actually good I probably wouldn't be commenting on it, but it was just all so boring. I don't even know how it's possible that all those games made me feel nothing, but somehow my expectations were too high.
I would have watched the "Women in Gaming" or whatever stream that was, but I chose to do better things with my time.

That's something that is actually good if you think about it. The DEIniggers have put out nothing but flops, so people automatically assume if a game has a negress protag it will be shit. They've associated their brand with low quality. They're the Harbor Freight of entertainment. People associating this shit with low quality will eventually result in suits scrambling and it's not a situation where a quality SBI game will turn the tide. Too many failures have built up an expectation of shit for the situation to be remedied by damage control.

I think this can be expanded to anything associated with those types of games - they just don't seem appealing. The idea of pixel art in games, much like the idea of RPGs or covering "deep" topics (i.e. depression or what not) aren't bad ideas, but they get shoved into so many games that are so unappealing that seeing any of those ideas makes you get a sour taste in your mouth. When I look at a gaming showcase like this, or any gaming showcase really, I want to see games that are appealing - that I can understand from the trailer alone, get a good feel of the gameplay, and see whether it'd be fun. Hell, even if I don't think it's fun, usually I can see some appeal in it for others. If I can look at a game and immediately know what the dev is trying to push that's not just the game, it usually ends up being a bad game.
But I look at these showcases and just see boring games. Where's the fun? Games are meant to sell, they're products after all, but you'd think devs and artists would know that first the game has to look and play well. If it doesn't look good enough or it's not fun, people won't care about it, and I think that fuels a lot of the sentiment towards things like the Summer Games Fest and other similar showcases - they don't have anything that actually appeals to people, even if the games aren't from major companies.
If the main selling point of the game as advertised is something like "made by some 'minority' group" or "has some dumb agenda inserted into it," you might as well have just told me you made it while jerking off, cause let's be real, when you put in it a game, you're not looking to sell me anything that's fun.
