Not-E3 2024 Thread - A place to discuss the whole week's worth of video game broadcasts and announcement

Not only did Pal World take MS money for GP and timed exclusivity, it was also made by a team at a traditional, if little-known, studio.
Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I wouldn't go that far. Palworld was literally made by a bunch of misfits, unknowns, and rejects giving it their all with a CEO taking massive swings on high risk bets. Nothing about Palworld studio is traditional.

The fun thing about these modern conferences is that you can easily tell which of these games are DEI slop made for EGS score, and which games are actual products designed to sell copies.
I'm sure none of the publishers actually think Flintlock, Mixtape, South of Midnight and Fragpunk are going to bring any profit.

If "voting with your wallet" worked, none of these games would even exist.

Oh, it works.
The problem is someone with a very big wallet is casting a lot of votes.

The amount of defense for the Perfect Dark trailer is baffling. Some even saying it's superiour to the original. Are these people insane? Is it consoomer brainrot? I even saw one reaction video saying the HUD looks good. It's just a generic UI with a bunch of Chromatic Aberration applied, to the point where it makes it hard to read.

Also, maybe I missed it earlier in the thread, but what's with this trend of turning fantasy settings into quirky ironic quip fests?

I mean when you compare it to some of the other trailers in that showcase, like Fable and Dragon Age: Deadname, Perfect Dark's generic ideas for gameplay are almost revolutionary. And it showed something akin to gameplay. This is the kind of slop that gets that predditors praise on release and forget in a month.

Thats a polite way of saying they made a shitty survival game for Steam Early Access.

And no, I'm not talking about Pal World, I'm talking about Craftpia.

>Star Wars
it's dead, who cares, skip. This game actually lets you fly from orbit into the planet's atmosphere. It's better than Starfield.

About the main event (WE WUZ SAMURAI N SHIIIEEEET):
>dis nigga TOWERING over those lil' japs
>the Shiba Inu not immediately barking at our KANG
>Yasuke: "there is no reason to have fear"
>REAL JAPANESE TRAP BEATZ during bossfight
>shit voice acting
>muh dik
>bix nood

Ubisoft deserves its bankruptcy. The Prince of Persia: SOT remake is probably going to be their last project, if it isn't gonna be cancelled again. :story:

Ignoring, if we may, the skin color this time this is just fucking stupid.
-Obvious foreigner armed to the teeth enters a village of one of the most isolationist empires in history during one of it's most tumultuous periods where tensions, both internal and external, are at their highest point.
-Everyone except the mustache-twirling corrupt guards respects the fuck out of him, no questions asked. Kids and dogs specially, since both are famously known to react well to unfamiliar-looking people.
-"There's no reason to have fear"
-Proceeds to savagely butcher everyone in his path after the slightiest provocation and unceremoniously behead a poor guard in the middle of the street while somebody unsuccessfully tries to emulate a 2Pac album with a shamisen in the backgroud.
-There are absolutely no consequences for this event.

Nice "assassin" game you have there, Ubisoft.

This may have been why Ubisoft had chat turned off:

I think even The Game Awards restream (where this was from) eventually switched chat to sub mode.

Anyone else get surprised by the new Avowed trailer? Looked a lot better then the last time I saw it. I also like some of the hard lighting, kinda brings me back to UE3 days.

Avowed Gameplay

I bounced off of Outer Worlds, hoping this is better. Shame Avellone didn't get to do any writing for it.
I have faith in Obsidian to make a good game, so I have always had a side-eye on it, no matter how dated its graphics look. And hey, I'm one of those people that rarely cares about graphics anyway.

Ass Creed will be an Excellent Johnny Somali simulator at least.

Star Wars Outlaws looks surprisingly not shit (which is funny given the reveal trailer), but I shan't be fooled by modern Ubisoft. Reviews first before anything else.
