Don't the kids get the money even if he just pulls a "Chis" and doesn't play vidya for 25 hours?

Like he cares, the only reason he initially went into this was to feel slightly better about himself in the moment. There's no guarantee that he wouldn't just welsh like he is known for.

you know I was actually doing some critical thinking, and I actually think if Chris put effort into this, he couldd increase the chances of landing a job. this sounds crazy and far fetched but bear with me here.

if Chris for to make blueprints of say a little big planet level and the mod nation racer track using whatever art tool, it woumd showcase his cadd degree. After that he can set up a twitch stream. then he can go about spending 24 hours designing both levels respectively one then the other explaining in details what he whats doing and informing his audience on tips and tricks on how he was making the levels, while maybe throwing a joke here and there. After he say finished designing a little big planet level, he then could be streaming how he was working on my nation racers level doing the same thing by informing his audience on how he could do they same thing while throwing a jokevhere and there.

these would show not also he could design levels, but it would make use of his CAD degree, while showing he's involved in charity, and that he can be informative, thus increasing his chances Of finding work.

the problem is is that this will never happen to the simple fact that Chris doesn't put effort into anything. in my experience diligence has almost always outdone ingenuity (though it's good to have ingenuity as well). OPL could be on the genius level that Mozart was with music, but he still be worried is today cuz the fact that he doesn't do anything but play vidya

Never played any of his Modnation or LBP levels, but people say they are a shitty mess and barely playable (What a surprise, uh?)

well that's largely because he doesn't put any effort into them. also he doesn't bother learning about how design levels probably nor the one about advanced features that the tools have to offer them, he just thinks whatever he uses is perfect and he doesn't need to revise it it's kind of like his drawing in a sense. he could work to actually be pretty good if you put effort into it and learns all the basic fundamentals but he doesn't bother and thinks he is a genius due to his inflated ego

With all the new fail coming in through Chris' facebook, it may have been easy forget but tomorrow (Nov. 2) Chris has raised over $200 to participate in the Extra-Life gaming marathon.

Do you think Chris is going to make good on his part and play 25 hours straight of gaming? What games do you think he should play / will play? Also, is there any way to keep tabs on him via is PSN account?

Chris has probably forgotten about it because of all the Facebook stuff.

Chris and effort.

I don't think he'd even stand up to play guitar hero anymore.

This would be about as interesting and as long as his animal crossing documentary.

granted I have seen some designers who do make it interesting, but we are talking about Chris here. In fact if you were to actually live stream for 24 hours it would pretty much be the Animal Crossing documentry like entertainment for 24 hours, no matter what game it was, unless she was tardraging at the game and commenters on twitch.

I couldn't care less if he plays 25 consecutive seconds of vidya for this and then (:_( , I don't care if he pre-sells all his swag, up to and including the T-shirt that's on the way to him for being an enhanced participant, and ends up turning a profit that he pockets when it's all said and done, I'll say it again;

Good job CWC for using your online reputation to raise money for a decent cause. All the :alog:'s can go eat a :pickle: on this one if they want to nitpick at you here. If you had just made that video and gotten the other $100 donation that was offered by one of your sponsors you could have done much better than you did but there's still time for that to occur, no matter how unlikely.

But, about the rest of your existence . . .

Chris will stare dumbly at his screen, playing whatever game he chooses until he starts to feel tired or bored. Then, when it becomes a little tough, he'll give up. Simple. The kids get their money, Chris gets to feel like he did something and maybe earn a little cash on the side and we all get to reinforce our conceptions about Chris.

Just think that when he fails, we'll already have the perfect counter to his future claims of "HELPING DA CHILDREN" which will probably become yet another piece of useless CV candy. I'm glad Chris is doing some good in this world, even if his motivations are suspect.

I hope he does the gaming marathon. It would probably help take his mind off the Facebook drama for a little bit. Unfortunately, there's a chance he's forgotten about it and even if he did do it, Barb might make him stop the marathon to run errands.

How fucked up would it be if - the one day he actually has an obligation to play video games for hours without end - Chris decides to go to a park and feed the ducks?

Hmm... He's the golem of the Temple of Fail, so it's probably not as far fetched as I'm suspecting. :?

I think "obligation" is the key word here, we all know how Chris reacts when an outside influence deems it necessary to perform some sort of feat, instead if him just feeling like it.

I'm going to have to stop you right there.

Meh, my bet stays the same; he play till he get tired of it and say good enough.

Just like every other thing he's attempted. Half-ass it to the end Chrissy, even when it's a charity for sick kids. After all they are only dying of cancer but your tired so really it's the kids fault right?

Playing vidya for 25 hours is one thing I think Chris could actually do and probably has done before. Perhaps after crashing into a slumber for many hours after discovering the truth about his high school gal-pals he'll have had plenty of rest, and just need to stock up on his favorite junk food to be ready to go. It would probably be a relief for him to forget the harsh realities of life and lose himself the fantasy world of his games, where he's a hero who can accomplish things.

Would I bet money that he will do it? No way, Chris is unpredictable and unreliable. But I think he can do it and I won't be shocked if he does.

He's probably just using this "marathon" as an excuse to get a certain large monkey with holey buttocks off his back for a solid day.

This is what matters. I would like him to see it through, of course, just to see him learn some semblance of accountability and work ethic--and how ridiculous is it that that's a legitimate way to describe his pledge to play vidya? But, at worst, he has raised some money for charity, and that is honorable.

Nah, I doubt Chris has ever played video games for 12+ hours straight. That's the sort of thing that would require external pressure (and, of course, this charity thing isn't pressure) to get Chris to do.

Y'know, I can agree with you for the most part. Props to Chris (!) for actually trying to raise money for the charity. Ironically, it was probably his online infamy that made it possible for him to reach his goal, but it was a goal achieved nonetheless.

What grinds my gears though is the fact, nitpicky as it may be, he is once again taking the laziest path available, and has apparently not held to his promise (no activity on his PSN account as of this writing). Yes, the kids are still getting the $220, awesome. But this will just further imbed in Chris' mind that he doesn't have to do anything, not even play vidya, and he will still be able to delude himself into thinking that he's some kind of hero even though being insincere and lazy.
