Younger adults do that, when I was a boy my family didn't really do that and the same is true for a lot of other people. These days it is more common and I’ve met a lot of people that can’t or don’t cook. It’s also a big reason why the obesity problem has been getting worse and I don’t expect that to change anytime soon.

When you break it down by sex it’s even worse, women cook less than they did, but men cook even less than that. This is all just my own observation of course, maybe someone else has seen something contrary to what I have.

I agree with most of this, but psychologically speaking I think a lot of this stems from what's been said to be women's general inclination towards openness, agreeableness, and experience in personality research. Porn is bad and jacking off all day every day will make a man retarded, sure, but people online fixate on the role of porn in societal trends to a myopic degree. That is what worries me. TMI; I'm studying to get a degree and you should see the pronoun bullshit they have for English. There is a whole chapter dedicated to pronouns such as how we shouldn't be calling our grandmother or grandfather grandmother or grandfather but rather grandparent as that is more gender inclusive and that we need to stop using masculine and feminine pronouns in favor of gender neutral pronouns. It is ridiculous but none of the students can say anything about it as we will fail the class if we have a problem with it. I believe they call this; "enforcing learned behavior".

The primary factor behind low marriage rates is that men don't have enough resources to offer women. The exchange of marriage is the man provides resources while the woman provides reproductive access. If the woman doesn't have much to gain from marriage in terms of resources, she becomes far less likely to bother with it. You can also observe this in how consistently fertility rates track with female workforce participation even in societies on different sides of the globe.

The obvious cause behind this, IMO, is government, which provides many, many mechanisms to transfer wealth from men to women outside of marriage.

Not that porn has no role at all to play, but it's missing the forest for the trees to focus on porn.
