I don't even know why these threads are being compared really, one is super serious, and the other is mostly humor and shitposts.
I'm sure a lot of the women will hate me for saying this but women in general can't take jokes or rib the way men can and I think even on KF it shows. Dudes, in a group, dunk on each other, mess with each other, etc., sort of interact like it's KF itself. If you treat women the way you treat men you're gonna have a bad time. It's kind of why GamerGate even happened, "women being harassed" was women going into male spaces (gaming) and getting dunked on, and of course they don't know how to handle male ribbing so they break down and the piranhas come out to feast. Women can be brutal to each other, but it's more of a henpecking and ganging-up kind of behavior.
As I've gotten older I've seen more of the wisdom in male/female segregated spaces. For one, for fidelity reasons. Islam's proscriptions on relationships and sex relations are unfair to women in our current society but the reasons for them are pretty based. In fact I think a return to that in society would help eliminate the tranny problem, too. In fact I think separating the threads like this was the correct thing to do and IMO anyone complaining about not being able to post in one shouldn't be allowed to post in either.
Agree in part; disagree in part.
I do think it's true that women dunk on each each other less than men tend to do with each other.
But merely being more of one sex than another doesn't make a thing a "male space" or "female space," unless the thing is specifically designed that way, for the purpose of being single-sex. Gaming has more male participants than female, but the whole of gaming isn't a "male space." Nor is knitting an inherently "female space." Concentrated efforts to run women out of gaming - an activity that
can be done by both -
because they are women are not defensible*; efforts to block men from being able to participate
on the whole in any knitting or quilting activity would be the same.
*I'm not saying that's how gamergate went down; I'm speaking generally.
KF is not a "male space," though the overwhelming numerical dominance of males in it makes having a single thread among the thousands be a "female space" make some sense. If a sex can't say a contrary word on an entire platform that is built on/has a whole ethos of being contrary without being demeaned purely due to and on the basis of their sex, then one thread to be able to speak without being drowned out by the idle brigade is reasonable.
Where I fully disagree with you is that the woman-hate thread is mostly humor and shitposts. There's a
lot of venom in that thread, and from a lot more unique user IDs than in the man-hate thread. And sorry (not really), but calling a man a dick or a scrote isn't on par with characterizing all women as whores incapable of rational thought and devoid of any sense of accountability. Calling or seeing all men as inhuman rapists is pretty close, but again, the number of people going full turbo death-wishing on the opposite sex in the man-hate thread is minuscule by comparison.
It's usually pretty apparent when someone is shit-posting or giving honest and measured or frustrated critique. But the woman-hate thread has far more and varied comments speaking in sociological doom-terms about the desired "deserved" fate of those they hate than the other one. The woman-hate thread has endless "these bitches are going to get what's coming to them/they deserve every bad thing in the universe because they do x/because they did y," whereas the man-hate thread is more individuals saying "I hate men and here's why," more than "those immoral shitheads will, as a group, feel the wrath of God for their defiance of The Natural Order and their ordained role in life."
It's almost comical to see the certainty and (what comes across even to a sometimes empathetic reader as) desperate desire for comeuppance of dumb slatternly bitches and the "restoration" of some retarded idea of natural superiority (despite doing absolutely nothing that suggests any actual reason for that presumed superiority). Except it's not comical because so many there seem actually to believe themselves. In the man-hate thread, some of the more frequent and strong-language posters have been clear that they, personally, don't have a romantic interest in men to begin with and that they dislike/hate what they see men do in statistical-level numbers, whereas in the woman-hate thread the sequence seems more often to start from personal hurt/fear of same -> grand, sweeping pseudo-scientific statements -> death (and rape) to harlots (i.e., every woman, either because she's had sex, or because she didn't want sex with the commenter or they assume she wouldn't...or that old chestnut that she's past the wall (at 25 or 30, lol) or ugly or fat). The madder commenters in the man-hate thread aren't wishing they had a male
Galatea, but the madder commenters in the woman-hate thread speak as though only that would do.
