Let me know when AI can seamlessly replace all characters faces, voices and mannerisms with Nicholas Cage, until then I sleep. Genuinely can't comprehend people getting hyped for shit like this.

no shit the last game i enjoyed on pc was tainted grail and even that AA jank ran like shit in the third act.
I should also add AA since they also have access to expensive hardware, and they are also out of touch most of the time like AAA titles. KCD2 was AA and not AAA, it was pretty much identical to AAA woke slop.

Smaller studios have less funding, older hardware and need to give a first good impression first to attract players.

First they compare Grace on low and not on high or especially with path tracing. Like what are we supposed to do with that if it's supposed to be an upgrade shouldn't we compare max settings? Second it doesn't change geometry but it does add makeup to people in some cases that didn't have any. For example grace has lipstick and eye shadow whereas she does not in the actual game. Overall it is fine as a technology for modders. But this should be something given to enthusiast gamers to allow them to dewokify games graphics easily that would otherwise be fun. Like reviving the corpse of Mary Jane walking around like a vampire so she looks like a human being again. It's certainly a niche tech. But I don't mind it. Neural rendering in general is pretty nice and I use it in blender already. But it's only going to be useful if players have access to the prompts instead of just developers.

This shit currently requires TWO top of the line GPUs by the way, because the second GPU needs to be dedicated to enshittening your game in real time.

This could actually look decent if, instead of throwing in a whole AI filter, they just added real-time lighting tuning. Right now, the terrible bog-standard forward facing rim lighting makes every character look like they were poorly photoshopped into the scene.

The reason why people tolerated DLSS was because it either enabled some form of upscaling or offered some antialiasing while maintaining similar performance. Nobody wanted it to actually do more than that, What about games with any remotely unrealistic art style whatsoever, how are they going to benefit from DLSS5? i feel like this shit is just some elaborate reverse psychology to get people to actually play through their backlogs.

In some of those shots, particularly the one of Leon and the FIFA game, where there's one overpowering light source, it does a pretty decent job.
But any shot with a more muted lighting framework, it just glams up the image as much as possible for the camera and looks like a bad social media filter. Probably why Starfield looks marginally better, every NPC in that game already stares directly into the camera like a desperate influencer.
The hogwarts game got it the worst, the old lady with the wand looks like a shitty aging filter run amok and the one of the kid next to the goblin is probably the worst case of the effect treating a scene inappropriately like it's an instagram selfie.

I dont like it. The new looks really uncanny valley on some games. For some reason the men look more handsome while the women just look like they either put on a filter or showing off their wrinkles.

Behead all DLSS/FSR And fake frame/upscaling supporting NIGGERS.
