I love how smug they are with trying to "erase misinformation", bolstering authoritative sources (MSM), and redirecting people who view "extremist" content. In other words, listen to MSM don't listen to any opposition they're science deniers. Is it? Vote hasn't happened and something just came out saying 47% of young African Americans arent voting Biden. Dont believe polls but, this is subject to change, all the caveats, but I'm not sure it will be 90%+ or a high enough turnout to help Biden. Mamala Harris' negative impact on the Biden train was underestimated.

Slightly off-topic, but I don’t even get why “the black vote” is so important to candidates. Half of eligible voters of any race don’t even show up to vote, blacks are only 13% of the US population, and as a demographic their turnout rates aren’t any higher than the general population.

The black vote can make or break electoral victories in most swing states. One of the reasons Hilary lost was because blacks did not turn out in the same numbers they did for Obama. This is also why the polls were so off, because their models had the black voter turn out to be the same as for Obama. If you look at the swing states in play this year (MI, PA, WI, FL, and MN), there are enough blacks in most those states that Trump getting 15-20% of the black vote at usual black voter turnout would give him an electoral landslide.

They aren't going to vote for Trump. The idea of Trump getting much more than 10% of the black vote is pure fantasy. It looks like he got 8% of the vote in 2016 so 10% is in reach if he has Kanye dance a jig while Biden calls him a nigger. That is the ceiling.

Meanwhile, more radical reforms have not found popular purchase. Despite the increased prevalence of cries to “defund” or “abolish” the police, neither proposal has even close to majority support.

Agreed that 10% would probably be his ceiling, any more gains from the black vote would come in the form of them looking around, saying "fuck this shit", and not voting. So if someone is emailing Biden about not supporting Police Reform, what they mean is that too many people would just not vote, and again due to demographics, that leads to hilariously lopsided election results.
