Odd Youtube Fads

I actually enjoy modern YouTube Poop. I don't know what to say; it's just so retarded it makes me laugh.

Marginally on-topic, but has anyone else seen these YouTube Nightcore remixes (as opposed to material actually from Nightcore) on services like Pandora?

Prank/social experiments videos. Atrocious rubbish is what I call them. Most of them aren't even "pranks". They're either some jackass irritating common civilians, making stupid noises or immature "jokes", or someone going into hood that results in a chimpout (typically staged)

I also hate the ones that try to spew out political, social, or liberal rhetoric

"How to draw" tutorials always amuse me. There's a few good artists who are capable of giving useful instruction on the craft, and then there's wave upon wave of fuckheads who produce useless videos of generic manga heads which vary between mediocre and utter shite. My favourite is alantutorial's excellent deconstruction of the genre:
.

My favorite deconstructions of tutorial videos are this guy's:

I just remember another thing I watched around 2008, Kingdom Hearts AMVs. Most of the ones I saw were "musicals" trying to lip sync to Disney songs. I recall one where Marluxia "sings" Colors of the Wind.(To be honest, thinking about that now, it sounds dumb.)

Back then I used to watch a lot of rants/commentaries. When these things were popular, I was around the age where I thought these videos were so clever, and I was clever for watching these things... :\
Like a lot of people have already said, these things were pretty popular. This one, while awkward, seems tame compared to the other "cringy" ones. But it's kind of, I don't know... Special(?) to me because it led me to look up the great CWC, and I haven't been able to get off the ride since... (:_(

Anyway, I also remember when this was so popular that a bunch of anime music videos were made with this song.

I remember Numa Numa guy being one of those people who *could* have become a lolcow, but rather then get angry at people mocking him, he was a good sport about it and laughed along with everyone. Once the mocking stopped, he just faded into obscurity (though I *think* he wound up making a sequel video before hand).

Ok so some kid made a mildly successful "animated" series on Youtube called Fairy Foxes where they're just Tails recolors with wings.
This led to a whole bunch of kids making their own "animated" series

Ugh, I hate these videos. There are some social experiment videos that are genuinely interesting, but they all follow a "What Would You Do?" format (meaning they stage a scenario that would actually elicit a thought-provoking response, such as having an actor pretend to be an abusive boyfriend/girlfriend and harass their partner in public or something). Most people just use the "social experiment" excuse to harass and fuck with random passersby.

Oh dude this reminds me of that whole MSPaint Anime community on youtube a few years ago.

So I guess when you're a kid (or an adult) that religiously watches quality anime like naruto, chances are that making your own anime will be one of your life goals. Now, obviously most of these people will not have the skills, money, or applied effort to create an actual cartoon. So what they will end up doing is write a Sonichu-esque story starring them and their high-school friends, "animate" it in Windows Movie Maker and Paint.Net, record their Skype friends in a group call for the voice acting, and then release it on Youtube only for it to become unlisted/private a week later.

Here are some funny ones that I remember:

They're still relatively common, but I remember when "angry reviewer" videos were all the rage. More often than not, the rage was incredibly cringeworthy and fake. I've never understood the appeal of watching someone string swear words together and scream incoherently when you can watch an insightful, comprehensive review instead.
AVGF for life brah

One of the weirdest youtube fads I've found is the cartoon crossover shipping mv community. They splice scenes from different movies together and put it through a billion filters so it's harder to see the cutouts.

Spongebob sings videos. Part of me can't hate them, sorely because I used to watch them back when I was around 7. Selfish nostalgia I guess.
I'm shocked that they have so many views, seeing that Spongebob is pretty crappy.

I dunno if this belongs here, but one of my favorite series on the Youtubes, are like Fanimes. Really really bad animes created by fans. One particular Gem I enjoy watching is the entire series of "Blood Raining Night" Which is essentially a mega crossover of a billion animes, bad Voice acting, and Terrible animation.

OH ALSO Theres alot of "Sex" scenes in this thing, if you can CALL them that.

And On episode 8 or 9 There is a Vagina Laser. Straight up. Vagina laser. You have to watch it to believe it.

Any of the Rog or Tyrone videos. Long story short for all three of the people in this forum that might not know, both Rog and Tyrone are on Fiverr.com and they initially were doing video testimonials, however people on the internet ended up commissioning them for other purposes. I used to pay for their services as well in the past, but lately their prices have become ridiculous. (15 dollars for 15 words)
