Trumpers still refuse to admit that Trump did anything but pure perfection in handling covid. See tards like @draggs

Yeah and you can't use "estimated cases", when there's really no baseline for it, for the death toll. Do you know why that is, or do I have to explain it to you? I know you claim to be good at science, so you should know the answer to this. If not, I can answer it for you.

Estimates for coronavirus deaths globally, not official deaths, run about 1/3 higher than the official total. Source: BBC, June 17, 2020. So that's about 1,600,000. Out of 750,000,000.

Brother, why do you hate the science in such a wildly flailing fashion? You sound like Trump when hes really feeling the covfefe

I don't understand why Trump is to blame for these deaths though, we had months of BLM and Antifa riots where none of them were following quarantine rules or suggestions. Is Trump to blame for BLM existing? Like I said before you cited Australia's lack of cases but they never had a total lockdown, like America they had different rules for different areas all over the place, their mortality rate was something like 0.91%. Canada is the same but around 4.5%. If you want to correlate it directly to lockdown then you need to agree they should have been arresting literally every single person at every single protest and putting them into some temporary internment camp.
I've been very against the BLM/Antifa riots during a pandemic, too. But you gotta be really ignorant to think that Trump isn't responsible for a terrible covid response. You can still support Trump and admit he fucked up the covid response.

The same question can be turned around, you know. Both sides are somewhat insincere, one treated anything from WHO as pure unmitigated lies and now swears by its word when it's convenient.
Sure, that was never my point though so turning it around would be disingenuous, which I don't put past anyone. I'm just pointing out the absurdity of the argument and the obvious self deception. He has a narrative he wants to believe, and because of that will disregard any information that doesn't support shutting everything down because of the virus.

So you are applying a death estimate from June to a total case estimate from October? You really are stupid, no wonder you hate science. Or you are just trying to be clever and intentionally making the denominator bigger.

Seriously, stop now. You are just looking stupider and stupider every post. Just admit that your daddy fucked up the covid response, you'll feel better.

Obviously the left does not give a fuck about anyone's safety. Forget about them spreading covid, theyre literally burning down buildings with people still inside. They found a corpse like 2 months later huddled up in a corner of a building that was burned down by democratic rioters.

The fact they have the balls to even claim they care about people's safety is insane.

So we trust them, but we also say that they're probably wrong if it doesn't fit the lock down everything narrative. So we both believe them, and disbelieve them at the same time. Interesting that you so freely admit to doublethink.
I say we can trust them, but the percentage calculation used is not how you go about doing it. You suck at stats is what I am saying.

I"ll be honest and say that I'm less concerned about the death toll and more concerned with the fact that covid murdered the industry I was working in. Massive job loss, and finding new work became increasingly scarce. Luckily my state paid pretty strong unemployment benefits and I was able to get back to work with a new job in about 2 months, but my overall standard of living dropped like a motherfucker and I won't really financially recover for another year at least. Tons of people are in this boat. Lockdown may be issued on a state by state basis, but the spread of covid wouldn't have been nearly as bad if the federal government took it more seriously.

I don't believe he is uniquely responsible. Early on when he was trying to shut down international travel everyone called him xenophobic and politicians were literally telling people to go out and eat in Chinatown to show bad orange man that we're not scared.
See this is what you guys don't seem to get: zero people are saying scientists are always wrong. We are saying this whole time - and on many issues - they have been wrong. They admitted to this. They also disagree, debate, and publicly call each other out. Scientists can be bought and sold, scientists can lie for their own benefit especially when it comes to grants (which is a savage enterprise,) and when that happens they do not stop being scientists. When Donald Trump says we may have a vaccine by year's end, he is a wild antiscience idiot. When the boss of the fucking WHO says the exact same thing, well that's something else entirely.

You have this bizarre idea that people saying "sometimes scientists lie and are wrong" means everybody hates science. You think by saying Trump is not 100% to blame for Covid-19 deaths, we are part of some insane death cult. You sound completely unhinged and it does not come across as trolling.

Joe Biden was strangely the weakest candidate they could come up with. You have to wonder if this was deliberately done. Picking someone that's easily beatable, really old (kind of frail too) and who enacted racist crime bill policies in the 1990's. This seems all to portray Trump in a better light despite the Covid incompetency and all the other faults. I have my strong doubts that Joe will win because of this as well as the cult-ish aspect of Trump's supporters.
Well, there have been those who said that this election is just to flush out all the stuff with Trump. And there are those who'll use some stuff to get Kamala in office by saying Biden is "unfit for office". I think every Democrat knows that this is about removing Trump, and the time for petty squabbles about the future of their party is for after the election is over and done with.

Trump literally made it his strategy to appeal to uneducated, ignorant people, and this thread is proof of that.

It's amazing how these tards never doubt weathermen or astrophysicists. Just on covid. Gee, I wonder why that is?
Isn't predicting the weather and studying illnesses two different playing fields?

You're quite literally saying to trust them but don't trust information from them if it doesn't make you right. You're beyond helping because your chosen end to the argument is to prove yourself intelligent and correct. When whatever qualifier for evidence you expect is met, you'll change your argument to fit that too.

Trump's "shutting down the travel" thing was stupid because the virus was already all over the world (and in the US) at that point. Italy was having terrible caseloads, too, yet he didn't stop flights from there. It was just closing the barn door after the bull has already left.

And I will admit, scientists sometimes are wrong. However, I also will trust their word on something. You don't seem to understand that it's okay to admit that someone else knows a lot more about a subject than you do, and that it is okay to trust them on said subject. It doesn't make you a stupid person. A stupid person is someone who thinks they know something when they don't. You Trumpers have this weird mindset that there is a vast worldwide conspiracy to make Trump look bad by the entire collection of the world's scientists, and then you don't trust said scientists because Trump said not to. You guys are seriously ignorant as hell on that. Why don't you guys also distrust other scientists? I mean, we know the answer, but you won't admit to it.

Will you do me the favor of admitting that Trump fucked the pooch on covid? You know it's true, I know it's true. Just admit it. You'll feel better

No, I am saying we shouldn't trust your calculations because you're a dumbass who doesn't understand statistics. You can't take a numerator from June and then use a denominator from October. That's intentionally making the percentage way lower. It's really not a hard concept.

Don't you love political discussion on this site?
COVID response is part of political discussion and arguably one of the biggest deciding factors in how people will vote this election.

And when the numbers are all in and official with whatever stamp of approval you're seeking, and they're as low as everyone here is stating, you'll say, "can't we all just be glad that we made it through these trying times? We're still here aren't we? It's better to have been safe than sorry!" as a large portion of those people are jobless and poor because of ill-informed lock downs that you push for.
