I know this topic was mentioned a few pages back, but wanted to make some observations (as someone who doesn't currently live there).

Even with PA having voted blue in the past, I think there have been a bunch of issues lately that will cause people to vote against the Democratic Party. While people might not like Trump, other issues might push them into his corner. In a nutshell, the lack of condemnation by the Democratic Party for the rioting, looting, social media censorship, anti-cop sentiment, pro-communism push, bizarre racial theories on the left will push many PA voters to vote red.

People in PA won't appreciate the riots in Philadelphia, let alone Lancaster County (which is like sacrilege, as that's "Amish Country"), and bad press is bad for tourism. High-income areas in the Philly suburbs don't want looting in their back yards. Small cities that have been falling apart since the US steel industry disappeared don't want more destruction and chaos.

PA won't appreciate the whole "abolish the police!" mantra from the extreme left. The whole "ACAB" thing is probably a slap in the face for those who have ties to the police, of whom historically supported the Democrats and vice versa.

PA has many self-identified Catholics, so they won't appreciate the attacks on the recent Supreme Court pick, the footage of churches being vandalized, Virgin Mary statues being decapitated, etc. Even the reluctant/lapsed Catholics would find this revolting. There isn't as much anti-Catholic angst as there used to be, so the fundamentalists will sympathize with them. Catholics, fundamentalist Protestants and Russian Orthodox will likely vote pro-life if they think there's a chance for a Roe V Wade overturn.

Many people in Northeastern PA commute to NJ and NY, and in the Southeast some commute to DC, they are probably pissed off at rioting naked freaks keying their cars and blocking roadways while they try to commute into the city.
There are also a ton of retiree "transplants" with fat pensions from NY/NJ who hated the politics/taxation in their former states, and THOSE people are often diehard Republicans who love Trump.

PA also has a sizable population of people who immigrated from the former Eastern Block (like Melania). They would find the whole social media censorship/news censorship and communism/socialism as sinister and frightening. Many of these people have relatives in and around NYC, Philly. Many of these same people have small businesses, just like the small businesses that are being smashed to bits in Brooklyn (which are also often owned and operated by immigrants), and they have no sympathy for unemployed looters who wave soviet flags.

Hispanic people in PA aren't a monolith as pollsters seem to think, and many of them seem to overlap with the people I mentioned earlier. Many of them have a strong dislike of illegal immigrants "they commit crime/join gangs and make us all look bad!", many of the newer citizens from Central/South America come to PA via conservative church-sponsored sponsorship, others come from families that have been in PA for 100+ years, particularly among the large population of Puerto Ricans. Many of them won't relish the idea of being lumped in one group labelled "POC".

The whole BLM/CRT thing will probably leave a great deal of people in PA with a bad taste in their mouths. There are already a lot of multi-racial families in small cities and suburbs of PA. To encourage hating "oppressive cis het white boomer Karen" is to "hate grandma". Intersectionality becomes schizophrenic when your ancestry covers four continents.

Your average low-wage PA person is probably "over" the COVID restrictions, and just wants to get back to work. Welfare programs are stringent. PA employment law in terms of sick leave and closures aren't as generous to employees as those of other NE states, so there's nothing for the working poor to fall back on if they lose everything and are out of work. I imagine they won't want the restrictions to last forever.

I could be totally wrong about all of this, but that's just what my gut tells me.

I've been finding myself playing ancient games lately. Like, 30+ years. Some of them older than I am. Not even for nostalgia purposes either. Many of them I've never played before.

The freedom, the lack of politics, the fascinating ways they did what they could with the weak hardware. It's all just...better. Not that there aren't some fantastic games in the modern era, but I swear the ratio of total shit to legitimately good games gets worse every year.

It helps that I know for a fact that Lord British isn't going to start puking diarrhea about trans rights or global warming. I cannot say the same about anything made in the past ten years.

I remember seeing a phrase a while back that said "Media now is a choice between new and good." And I agree, I haven't bought a game in years. It's like with dating now, sure there are some good ones but you can't tell who are the good ones without being swamped with a hundred crap ones. And even that "good" game might turn into a TLOU Part II.

White people have been beat over the head with the message that they are responsible for the ailments of the world because of shit that happened 300-400 years ago, and a lot of them are starting to internalize it. College kids in particular hear nonstop programming messages about how white men especially are the most reprehensible, cartoonishly villainous population in history. So now we have a shitload of already disillusioned white people who feel like they are all special snowflakes anyway due to being coddled by society for 20+ years each who think that they will gain social points by shouting about racial injustice and who have been programmed to believe that all they have to do to get both what they want and what POC want is to "overthrow" le ebil white man.

Which is so fucked up, white people have done plenty of evil things but our sins are the sins of the human race, we're no different than any other group of human beings, humans period are capable of evil deeds, it's not anything white people have a monopoly on.

The fact that the buck is always passed onto white people instead of trying to make humanity as a whole face it's darkness is why things are getting so screwed up.

I also think of video games, the tech of video games today is amazing, imagine if games were still made like they were in the 2000s but with today's tech, instead of the soyed out SJW style of so many modern games.

I think so much of the easy brainwashing has to do with lack of real-life experience combined with a severe deficit in knowledge about history. How many of us in the US get comprehensive world history lessons in public school? Very few of us, I imagine, because to teach comprehensive world history about years 0AD-1750AD would involve teaching about religion, which is taboo.

I think about it all the time and it really makes me angry.

I'm actually playing a game at the moment that's only a year old and that's Control, which is actually really fucking good, save for the SJW friendly protagonist, I can't stop thinking about how much better this already good game could be if it was free from the constraints of political correctness, if it could have a more compelling protagonist than the typical bland "strong female" protagonist because everything else about the story is great.

It's modern gaming in a nutshell, even when a new game is good it's still not as good as it could have been if not for the modern cultural climate and that fact just tears me up inside.

Here's something I just thought of. Is the disinfo so bad that it's wrapped around and you can actually tell the truth with near perfect accuracy by watching the news, but you just believe the opposite of whatever they say? Or is it just bad enough that the media is pure white noise and it's impossible to get any real meaning out of it?

Because if it's the former, Trump has a one hundred percent chance of winning. And I think it might be. In the past year the media has quite literally done nothing but lie. Everything they say is the opposite of the truth, no exceptions.

The people that slaughtered the Native Americans are dead. The slave owners are dead. Everyone in history is dead (at least when talking about those from early 1900s and before). To say that humanity as a whole must face their darkness lumps every single last person with these psychopaths. Which is the same argument that liberals use but instead of humanity it's whites.

So no, students must learn history, understand it was a different time period and everyone was colonial crazy and that's that. No one should apologize or feel bad or be lumped in with those psychopaths.
