Allegedly there were almost as many early votes in Texas as total votes in 2016. 538 lays it put pretty squarely. It looks bad, really bad.

I'd button up and prepare for bullets.
I don't think Texas is going blue. Red district turnout has increased by like 25% while blue has hit like 8% tops IIRC so far in EV

I'm so bothered by people who are proud that they vote based on "character".

Character is easily spoofed and used to mask all sorts of heinous shit. I find the number of friends/family who would happily back a politician killing thousands abroad, or acting like a bona fide dictator domestically, so long as he regularly showed up on SNL to crack jokes and read his speeches with a winning smile incredibly disturbing. And how the fuck does anyone see an appreciable character difference between Biden and Trump? They're both demented old men with a long track record of creepy behavior.

I'd be able to respect people who want to back Democrat policies, but the sheer number of otherwise intelligent people who let cheap surface-level horseshit like character determine their vote is embarrassing. It's like that's the only thing they can fall back on to justify their vote, instead of admitting they prefer Democrats to the alternative.
Reminder that having a literal child point at who is prettier will determine the president equally as well as political analysts.

No they are are not. Only Joe has dementia.

Whoever wins this election know this: I am glad this site exists. I am embarrassed for our secretary of state to say Germany would assist the military if they had to throw trump out of the Whitehouse.

Thank you America, for being the country I look up to years already.

That being said: HHH, fuck you asshole.

No new taxes was a forgettable quip. Nobody would've given a shit if they were doing well. Unfortunately the US was in a deep recession.
Oh thanks you reminded me that Bush Sr. also lost because Ross Perot siphoned 10% of his votes away.
I think the recession at the time was more blamed on the Democrat Congress which lead to the Repubs with Newt taking control in '94 and spearheading an economic turnaround that handed Clinton surpluses while he shoved cigars into interns in the Oval Office.

Let me be clear: I don't think Texas is going blue, but if early voter turnout is as high in swing states as it is in Texas, that is an ill omen. It comes down almost wholly to how many Republicans come out today and vote in person. However, I can report somewhat optimistically that I did have to wait at my polling station for two hours this morning to vote. It was absolutely packed.

Agreed. There most certainly is higher turnout, but to think it exclusively favors one side is pretty retarded. Texas is so solidly red its ludacris to think it even has a chance of turning blue. Every single one of the votes over 2016 numbers would have to be blue to even come close to flipping it.

Bush Sr. Is a really good example. The man laid the smackdown on Iraq and strengthened America's situation in the Pacific and Eastern Europe, but because the economy shit the bed (through no fault of his own) he was soundly defeated.
The only reason Bush Sr lost was because Ross Perot took 19% of the vote

Yeah Ross Perot was a fucking nigger. Holy shit that faggot.

I don't see it either. But what about Arizona and Georgia? What the hell happened there in the last four years?
RCP places GA as Trump +1. No doubt it could go either way, but there's absolutely no reason to be all doom and gloom yet. AZ is gonna be interesting for sure

I hear the black pills about coronavirus and I think there is some merit to them but I just don’t see Biden getting the enthusiasm regardless to overtake trump

Hatred for a politician has never trumped enthusiasm for one when they’re pitted head to head in our country’s history.

Reminder that Justin Trudeau partially won because women thought he was hot. Looks and charisma are everything.

I've never had this answered for me, but what about the insane amount of Gary Johnson/Libertarian voters in 2016? I'd assume most will either vote Trump or not vote at all along with a small minority voting Libertarian? I think Biden will gain a bit from the Jill Stein/Green voters in 2016 too, but it's the 2016 Libertarian voters I'm curious about.
