Yeah I know all that dude. What I'm disagreeing with is your definition of democracy. You shifted from saying the United States was never supposed to be a democracy to now saying it was never supposed to be a "pure democracy". Which in other words you're saying the United States is an indirect democracy, which is still a democracy.

We're just arguing semantics and definitions here.
I'm just saying this in reference to the idiots who attack the electoral college.

The electoral college was a bastion against illiterates and other rabble (whom the modern Democratic party, in specific, makes a habit of pandering to) from having any more undue say in the elections than need be, and for damn good reason, as the idiots on social media easily prove.

So the real discussion should be about axing the popular vote, not the college (then maybe the Democrats would have to come up with a better strategy than trying to get those who can't even fill out a job application or even know the bare basic laws of their own state/province/region/etc into the polling booths).

There was someone who had an interactive one with counties in 2016. It's important to if you're following along while it happens. Trump winning Florida by a narrow margin doesn't mean a damn thing if Miami-Dade hasn't submitted their results for instance.
Miami-Dade is reporting and the results look really fucking bad for Biden. Hillary won that county 63-33 in 2016. It's sitting at 55-45 Bidens way at the moment. If that's representative of the statewide swing since the last election Biden has no hope, which is likely why the NYT has the little needle all the way over to Trump now.

I don't think anyone healthy actually believes that when it comes to themselves. They just like to pretend to for attention, power over others, a sense of superiority, and to get out of doing things they don't want to.
Nah, my roommate was fucking terrified when the pandemic came to my country. Said that I should be worried and that he wasn't going back to America until this all blew over. Of course, America has a lot more cases now than it did when me and him last talked.
