They can't?

I'm just saying look at the election results as it stands. That's a lot of red states full of people that voted for Trump to gamble on just pretending they don't see this and play along, especially after 4 years of being called Nazis and whatever. Say they don't play along and there's peaceful protests. Are you going to call the national guard? The police are persona non grata because of your BLM shit so can't call them nor could you trust they weren't secret Trump voters. And there's the small issue that Trump is still the president on friday, so how exactly do think no one would have maybe a bit of time to set aside to look into this before next year? On so many levels it's an unwinnable option especially with the optics on not counting at the current results. It's basically the equivalent of strapping on an explosive vest and screaming you're gonna blow up an building unless your demands are met.

Japan decided against invading mainland US because "there is a gun behind every blade of grass". Its gotten even more so since the 1940s, and its at least 100 to 1 in favor of the conservative side. The only backing and organization they need is "choot the commies!".
America's also far less cohesive and the people are far less resilient and patriotic than in the 1940s (I'm not picking on you, Amerifriends, it's like this in the west in general). I still wouldn't want to go all Red Dawn on the giant glorious Walmart, but more guns to go around doesn't suddenly make the US a tougher beast to defeat. Defeat comes within.

Well, I'm going to bed, or at least to play some videogames to wind down. We aren't getting a resolution tonight, and probably not until later this week at the earliest.

In the meantime, remember, final counts not being in until days after the election is normal. It's just usually irrelevant as the results are usually sufficiently clear cut to call it. That we've had a plague scaring the shit out of people this year resulted in heavy pushes for people to avail themselves of mail in or other early voting options. Meaning that crumbs that are usually counted last and don't swing much are suddenly significant chunks of the vote and their procedures for counting it are overwhelmed and generally fucked. That's most of what's going on, nothing to get worked up about. Save it for the shit show if this hits the courts.

I'm becoming increasingly unsure if my suspicion is that they're avoiding calling obvious states like GA and NC because they want to buy time to pull something out of their asses, or if it's something as simple as they don't want their viewers to unironically kill themselves if it becomes too clear they will be getting disappointing news.
