Yes the US doesn't benefit from being the sole superpower and being able to stuff our cock into any hole on the planet on a whim. Do you understand the defense umbrella and/or soft power?

There's a difference between being a global superpower and needlessly sending soldiers to die in far away shit holes for 20 years. Do I think we should fly cover for democracies like Taiwan or Poland? Fuck yes. Do I think we should be parachuting troops in Beijing or Moscow to do it? Fuck no.

The whole idea of a low intensity conflict has been pure autism since Vietnam. Going in and fighting in shit holes like Syria, Afghanistan, or Iraq is dumb: it was a shit hole before we got there, it was a shit hole while we were there, and it will continue to be a shit hole long after we are gone. Fuck them. I would have actually preferred the money spent trying to prop up the Afghan government be used as toilet paper instead: it at least would have served a purpose.

Biden's big thing is the "return to normalcy" overseas, which honestly I prefer to Trump's grabastic retardation.

He wants to strengthen NATO in Europe to withstand Russian meddling, and reassert our commitments to our Asian allies in Korea and Japan, to get them to pivot back away from China. He is also planning on seeking out economic and military cooperation with Vietnam, which, frankly, would be a huge win in the region. Vietnam loves us and is shit scared of China, and the fact that we haven't exploited that fact is criminal.

Ok, I actually want to hear this. How has Trump not done those things with regards to the West Pacific and Indian Ocean?
Also, strengthening NATO to resist Russia is a farce. I'll believe the Euros are scared of Putin when they aren't working hard to make themselves dependent on Russian gas.

I'm actually pretty well versed on insurgency and counter insurgency specifically, if you'd like to talk about these things in depth I'd love to take it to another thread or to PMs. Not even trying to be a smug cunt, I enjoy talking about it, but I think we should probably get back to the topic at hand.
