The reality is the two parties are so close on the political scale, and a lot of things do come down to local and state governments to decide. A third party will never win in America, and people who throw away votes are just voting against themselves. You have to vote in your best interest always, and that means chosing between two people most likely to win. A throw away just doesn't make sense. Not when you have a guy who is constantly testing the constraints of his power, allowing a bottomless pit billionaire get his fudgy autist fingers on our government's inner workings, and initiating trade wars with half the world. I wouldn't have wanted my own candidate to test the powers of our constitution, much less this rapist criminal. Yes, most of the time both candidates are awful, but this time, attempting to say Trump isn't way worse than your average politician would be ridiculous.

It's astounding how little people care about the economic impact of abortion restrictions really. Framing it simply as a religious/bodily autonomy issue means you dont have to face harder questions about poverty and how poor women often simply cannot afford to have a child. And ofc most people who support abortion bans also want to cut the very welfare programs that would help a struggling mom who couldn't get an abortion. It's disgusting.

Hospital bills for having a kid are exorbitant on top of lost wages from not working (the US is LITERALLY one of only a few countries in the world that doesn't legally require paid maternity leave. The others are tiny countries nobody cares about.) and things like "no abortion after x weeks" means women who need some time to save up money for one get shut out by the restriction. If you need to work two jobs to keep a roof over your head, good luck doing that with a baby at home.

I'd also like to add that troons are referring to sex specific medical care as "gender affirming care". A menopausal woman seeking relief through HRT isn't affirming her gender, a woman with PCOS getting her ovaries removed isn't affirming her gender, a woman having a mastectomy done due to cancer risk isn't affirming her gender. They have these issues because they are biological women. They are affirming that they're staying alive and healthy, not that their dick gets hard when skirt go spinny.
