Liberal women are more likely to understand that mental health issues are medical conditions and thus seek a diagnosis, the right wing tends to dismiss women's mental health issues as some kind of moral or spiritual failing. Alternative consideration: non-crazy behavior and thoughts may be being mischaracterized or over-/ too quickly diagnosed as mental illness because sexism never sleeps.

Making women thinking they're crazy or damaged or inept or helpless or un-resilient is a long and useful tradition. Keeps women out of full functionality and away from thinking they can take care of themselves and that they deserve better than whatever garbage gets tossed their way.
