Right, it’s not a job. It’s being a slave. Unless maybe the man is the sole provider and is giving her money on the regular for her own means. They want free labor. Women already do more domestic labor than men in hetero relationships. More mental and emotional labor as well.

I never thought about it, but honestly you’re right. More of them probably should have died. We even had Trump assisting them to their demise but it wasn’t enough. I think some other plague will happen during this presidency. I’ve been preparing. Saved some N95 masks and am working on getting a recession proof job.

Men are across the board, weaker than women when it comes to resisting disease, especially in old age.

For all their cope about being able to reproduce in their 60s, turns out men are expendable from day 1. Your Nana may not be able to birth another baby, but Mother Nature knows 75 year old Nana provides more value to society than 45 year old Uncle Stockbroker.

Sperm can be bottled and stored for later; Nana's delicious chicken soup and ability to cure a fever is irreplaceable.

They talk about finding a girlfriend the same way they talk about hunting deer, and they've been doing that since at least the 70's when St. Andrea went into a deep dive in Pornography about a particular spread in Hustler that very literally compared the woman on display with a dead animal, posing her spread-eagle on the hood of a car, as if shot, with guys in hunting attire mugging for the camera and everything. It seems not much has changed since then.

Liberal women are more likely to understand that mental health issues are medical conditions and thus seek a diagnosis, the right wing tends to dismiss women's mental health issues as some kind of moral or spiritual failing. It's such bullshit to post charts like this when conservative women are told to pray away the depression instead of going to a therapist or taking medication.

She's a bit of a grifter, but Dr Jessica Taylor has some fucking fire posts about the medicalisation of female trauma. A woman is raped or assaulted, and her very normal response to this trauma gets pathologised as a mental disorder. Women get told that their brains are broken, their hormones are disregulated, and this must be fixed with a lifetime of medication, while she continues to live in a culture governed by violence.

Doctors diagnose women with mental health conditions to avoid the truth that misogyny is the fundamental problem.

Alternative consideration: non-crazy behavior and thoughts may be being mischaracterized or over-/ too quickly diagnosed as mental illness because sexism never sleeps.

Making women thinking they're crazy or damaged or inept or helpless or un-resilient is a long and useful tradition. Keeps women out of full functionality and away from thinking they can take care of themselves and that they deserve better than whatever garbage gets tossed their way.
