I don't mean to clinicalize your personal experience, but you mentioning this reminded me of something; apparently, women who are victims of domestic abuse have higher rates of TBI than soldiers in combat or athletes that play contact sports--like American football and rugby. The rate of TBI among such women is about 2 in 3.

I believe the reason why the head is targeted like this is because the injuries are less visible there than on other parts of the body ...

The trouble is that very little research is done on this topic. Almost all studies on TBI concern men, and when symptoms of it present in women nobody knows to recognize them. (Just like with almost every other health issue.)

I think the state of men is unfortunate, it seems like a lot of us are stuck with some strange peter pan mentality, refusing to grow up, and it seems that a good deal of men are seeking surrogate mother figures rather than someone to team up with and uplift. On the other end of the spectrum you have men who seem to want to treat women like cattle, which is hugely disappointing to see.
Don't misread me, this isn't an "I'm not like the other boys teehee" post, I fall into the former category, which isn't something I'm terribly proud of.
I just wish men and women could be a team, because we compliment each other so well. I really do hope things improve, both for myself and for others, because the current state of affairs isn't terribly tenable.

For example we have a new hire at work. He’s the same age as me, an adult. Although his work ethic is still stuck in the middle of high school. You have to tell him literally everything, like there’s no capability of self-thought. It’s wild. He’s also not the only zoomer who’s like this.
He’s got no ambition and constantly drops the ball in tons of situations.

Thankfully, I have a guy that I am eager to “bridge the gap” with. It’s a whole new level of freedom when you can work together across the sexes and how much the opposite sex can support each other.

A quick look inside most houses of worship will confirm that more women attend than men. I think women enjoy the social connection and the holiness of prayer more than the single-minded men can. It’s like the man cave. When women have hobbies men deride them as stupid and unnecessary. When men have hobbies it’s based and cool and their right to have them.

Here’s an example of the pitfalls of being forthright to men:

In my 20s I set up an OKCupid profile. In it, I encouraged men to contact me if they were short and Jewish, because I like those traits. I got a few good leads, but for the most part my inbox was spammed by a bunch of men who were 6’+ and not Jewish asking me why would I want to date a Jew, why wouldn’t I want to date them instead, they’re so superior to Jews. They were basically arguing with me that my standards were wrong. These German and English descended idiots just couldn’t grasp that a woman wouldn’t want what they all think women want, and so they basically tried to argue with me that I should be going on dates with them instead of the men who met my stated preferences.

So if you’re forthright to a guy like this IRL you can expect him to argue with you, turn into a petulant baby, and seethe at you for not meeting his preconceived notions of what women are like. And if you tell a man like this “no”, most of them will pitch a huge fit. They may damage and break your furniture or physically abuse your person because you’re not instantly giving them whatever they want.
