To look at it another way, it’s like if you’re at a bar or party and see a cute guy off in the distance. He approaches you, you’re open to connecting, but then he opens his mouth and just reveals a total lack of anything interesting to say or worse, he’s actively off putting. At that point polite disinterest is the best you can do. Dating apps just speedrun this.

Source: I had a buddy who had mega chad looks but was super autistic and 4chan-poisoned so he’d get lots of interest from girls and then nothing after the first date. He had no idea how to talk to people, and he’d just ramble on and on about memes and vidya. Even girls who shared his interests were put off by him.
