You're very close to an actual major issue with certain Armed Forces.

There's a few places where this is a real phenomenon, and it had a huge effect in the Troubles, in Northern Ireland. In brief - the IRA, wisely, had a complete zero tolerance for sexual violence which was consistent throughout the entire conflict.

They got their start because of the political situation - Protestant men were very unlikely to be prosecuted if the victim was a Catholic woman, but became much more likely to get their kneecaps ripped apart with a drill. The entire foundation of the Provisional IRA was as a vigilante group to kill rapists - pretty much all of whom were, coincidentally, of a Protestant background. As a result, the Loyalist side was much less popular with women than the Republican side.
