Despite my incredulity that it's A Big Deal, I didn't subject my sons to the same. That's up to them when they're adults. There's no reason to believe it's such a cleanliness problem that can't be managed with minimal effort. But I got bothered multiple times by nurses to proceed with circumcision despite me already filling out the paperwork to not have it done. There was something so upsetting to me about the procedure on such a tiny little baby new to this world and I was already sick about the heel prick. There was something off about the nurse that took him away for testing that I made my mom go check they weren't secretly performing circumcision.
