This really depends on the woman. Some women really do hate when men show any emotion even if it's appropriate. Though it is true that a lot of the men who complain about not being able to express emotions are just being whiney in the wrong circumstance and don't get the difference.

No, women hate it when men are manipulative and because women are more emotionally intelligent we can tell when a man is "showing emotion" to manipulate us. We know when a man is using us to be his emotional tampon by whining about how hard he has it because women won't sleep with him and boohooo if only you made him happy... with your vagina... he would fell so much better.... sob sob sniff sniff.
