Not long ago I was on a trip with some members of my extended family, and this one woman (barely related to me) had two sons that were being absolute menaces and ruining the experience for everyone. (There was also a 5 year old girl on this trip, who wasn't causing any problems.) One of the sons was "spoiled", but the other? "Well, he's just autistic." which sounds to me like, "I won't bother disciplining him at all, so get used to it."

She's doing such a disservice to both her sons. The spoiled one might 'grow up' one day, but not parenting her autistic son well when he's young is setting him up for a terrible time in life.
