That's interesting because I've gotten men asspained at me any time I mention the fact that Bond is a Sue and the franchise is basically Twilight for dudes. It doesn't mean it's bad to like it or any other schlocky Sue wish fulfillment (including Twilight), but I feel like overall men get a lot more defensive over admitting male characters are Sues. Meanwhile they're quick to label female characters they personally dislike as Sues regardless of whether they actually are (like Rey).That said, most Bond enjoyers I know recognize that it's a Gary Stu fantasy and adjust expectations accordingly
It's ironic since outside of fanfiction, there are probably more male Sues than female ones given that fiction overall has kind of traditionally been a sausage fest. The Benchdal Test exists for a reason (not that something is automatically bad for not passing it, shit some of my favorite works of fiction don't pass).
