I half agree, disagreements between spouses should not happen in front of the kids if possible, but your spouse isn't a dog that needs "correcting" and yelling shouldn't be how you deal with disagreements or conflicts.

In my college days, I was taking a seminar with a brand new professor who'd gotten hired right out of her doctoral program. One day a male prof from the department sat in on the class to see how she was doing. She was visibly nervous about this and at one point repeatedly used the wrong word in a phrase. We all knew she was saying the wrong thing, and we all knew what she was trying to say, but we were damned if we were going to correct her with him sitting there. In the next class, she came in and asked us why we hadn't said anything, and the consensus response was "you'd have been even more embarrassed and upset if a bunch of snot-nosed undergrads corrected you in front of your tenured colleague." It was a no-win scenario for her because she was going to be embarrassed either way, but I still think we handled it right.

If we're doing some man hate true crime recs, Casual Criminalist just recently did an episode on the Yorkshire ripper where they really dug into how bad the police fucked up the investigation because they basically ignored the early (surviving) victims, assumed all the women were prostitutes because some of them were, and didn't give nearly as much of a shit as they should have because they were "just" prostitutes and poor women. It was incredibly infuriating but also unsurprising.

The Long Island serial killer's case was basically swept under the rug for a decade because the police chief at the time was a massive sex pest and john himself. He dismissed the FBI from the investigation because they were also investigating him for beating a suspect who stole sex toys and porn from his car. He was also caught fucking prostitutes in uniform and just got arrested again a few months ago for cruising for gay sex in a park. It's pretty obvious why this dude didn't wanna bother going after a serial killer whose victims were mostly prostitutes.
On the topic of native women, in Canada the Highway of Tears/Highway 16 from Port Edward to Prince George is well known in B.C. for the dozens of mostly native women that have been killed or gone missing on the highway. The West Coast is cursed. For reasons, not long ago I searched statistics on serial killers. Alaska, California, Oregon and Washington are 4 of the top 5 by some counts. Florida shows up as #3 in one list I reviewed, though they counted Bundy, who also hit the PNW and CA, as FL. Nevada gets in there, too. Depends on how you look at stats - definition of "serial killer," number of victims, places of killing, birth states of killers, per capita vs absolute numbers. Texas and Louisiana are contenders, too, along with Ohio and sometimes Illinois, plus New York. Some of it is down to vast areas with little population, within the top ten by about any measure you find a preponderance of West Coast areas.

No but seriously, I despise these stupid assholes who hate on women’s MMA. I have no one to talk to about this and let me tell you, it has been BUILDING UP.
I mean, first of all, most of them who say these things also say shit like “women’s fight, time to go do (xyz)”. And they aren’t joking, they really do refuse to watch women’s fights.
I know this is true because I’ve seen… eh, probably 70% of every prelim and main-card UFC fight that has occurred within the last two years, and the women’s fights have gotten objectively consistently solid, you guys, especially within the last 18 months. The only way these guys wouldn’t know this is if they weren’t watching them and then talking shit anyway.
Of course there have always been good women’s fights here and there even when female participation in the UFC was brand new and a lot of the fights were pretty dull, but the ratio of good fights to boring fights is probably the same in the men’s and women’s divisions at this point.
And I get the criticism that people(men) have regarding the watchability of many women’s sports, eg that the physical differences are too great and women playing basketball or soccer or whatever just isn’t as fun to watch. That’s probably objectively true. It’s not fucking true with MMA. It’s just not.
The criticism is especially annoying when you consider that they weren’t allowed to compete at this level* until Queen Ronda bade it be so and the skill level and competitiveness has still progressed incredibly quickly. I’d be willing to say at least half of the women’s fights I’ve seen in the last year were actively great fights, and most that weren’t were still perfectly watchable. It’s like they watched Rose and Carla because it was a title fight and then said, Yes, this is how women fight. All boring. No watch for me.
And women’s MMA is only getting better, 100%. There are some young girls coming up, namely Erin Blanchfield, who are just smashing everybody up in there, and they represent the next generation of women’s MMA. It will only be boring if you’re a braindead moid who can’t bear to watch clothed women do anything for longer than five seconds without finding something to bitch about.
Probably doesn’t help that many of the female fighters are sports lesbians and the men don’t want to fuck them, so they see even less reason to watch.
I genuinely think of these guys as just massive fucking posers. They’re not fans of the sport, they just want to see blood. These are the guys that start booing when a fight is on the ground for longer than three seconds. Hate ‘em.

Better yet, take a look at what men’s UFC fights looked like in 2003, 10 years after the UFC began, compared to now. They’re shit. I will say, however, that this shit comes from the fans and not the promotion. The commentators and fight callers treat the female fighters exactly the same as the male fighters, seem just as invested in their fights, and are just generally respectful of them as athletes and as humans. Special shout out to my boy Michael Bisping for not being a sexist piece of shit AND being the best commentator, too.
