>Men who write dystopia: Having to make wild shit up in their books because they are not oppressed in real life
Newspeak wasn't made up for 1984 though, Orwell got the idea from Imperial Japan circa WW2 where they enforced actual thought crime laws. Reality is more insane than fiction.

If memory serves, China has their own CCP version of newspeak to prevent modern Han Chinese people from reading old pre-Communist documents.
Also since this retard is referring to a handmaid's tale:
Apparently being a housewife means being forced to give birth to babies from different households or rather different men.
Everyone who relates Handmaid's Tale to 1950's America is retarded. Handmaid's Tale is a depiction of an Islamic caliphate, and nobody knows this for some reason.

Why do we let men have opinions?

Why do men wanna be oppressed so bad?

I'm sure this guy is totally not a cuck though.

Moids love to hear themselves talk.
I would say that man perspective of dystopia is to take bad things to their extremes.

Women perspective of dystopia is to take good things to their extremes. There is a more textured nuance for the reader because they have to draw an uncomfortable line in their mind to where their bonderies actually lie.

Men, bad thing bad. Duh.

Yeah I always thought Handmaid's Tale was Atwood's painfully obvious attempt at making Americans care about what was going on in Iran by rewriting it with white people names, but America's response was "Yes this is 100% about us".

Which dystopian perspectives are you referencing in particular, because I don't think forcibly impregnating women in a grotesquely stratified fundamentalist theocracy is especially "good". You could maybe apply it to Oryx and Crake, at least as far as Crake's intentions for humanity were concerned, but if I had to pick a 'good things taken to extremes' dystopia the one to immediately come to mind would be Brave New World, written by a man. Even Stepford Wives (also man) fits that description a lot better than Handmaid, since at least it's parodying the idealised image of 1950's domestic bliss instead of just being a straight-up totalitarian dictatorship with no redeeming or attractive values to anybody but deranged incels.

Handmaid Tales takes motherhood (not for everyone but a general virtue) and makes it a horror.

Oh yeah that makes sense now that I think about it. My perspective is too black to not view parental obligations as a horror from the start.
My comment is more on theme and not internal motivations, so you comment was totally understandable. Brave New World, the antagonistic force is a stifling of individuality. Bad thing bad.

The Giver, trying to make a fair society and it fails, good thing bad.

Of course this is a general statement but women writer tend to focus on more personal and internal horror.

I recommend Ursula K. Le Guin's short story The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas.

I'd have said Brave New World was more about the removal of all sources of pain and hardship leading to an unintended stifling of individuality, and put it pretty firmly in the 'good thing bad' camp. I'd even put 1984 there, considering the author and his target audience in the time it was written. I agree with you that women focus more on internal horror (generally), but I still think these 'bad things bad' dystopian works have a lot more nuance than you're crediting them with. Except the cyberpunk ones, they all seem pretty straightforward and dumb from what I've read.

I'm not familiar with The Giver, is it any good?

The guys that say that kind of stuff typically aren’t lookers themselves. It’s just that with society, women get way more flack for aging than men do. For every silver fox, there’s at least 10 men that don’t look great at older age.

If men as a whole were given the pressure women have to look young forever, way more men would be getting cosmetic surgery, having elaborate skincare routines, and trying to find ways to cut calories so the clothes still fit. It’s actually a common thing in Hollywood, but a lot of men in show business get cosmetic surgery done too. Nose jobs, veneers, and chin implants are what men will get. It’s not all natural, the press just doesn’t give much attention to men getting procedures done unless it’s very drastic and obvious. All that being said, men should be more pressured to look good, especially for the efforts women put in. At the very least, no self respecting woman should settle for a slob.

I think aging is also nation/ethnicity specific. Brits age horribly, not hating cos I like Brits but damn, they start to look old quickly.

This is Luke Littler, British winner of the world dart championship.

He's 16 years old.

Also Slavic men age like fucking bananas. I find that Slavic / Eastern European women age well nowadays if they haven't started smoking at 12 and are middle/upper class, they take very good care of themselves. But eastern euro men peak as fetuses and then it's a downhill, they start getting bald in their 20s and grow big bellies too.

Seconded on the Le Guin story. It works as a story that makes you squirm and makes you think.

I can agree with that.

WAKE UP TARDS FEMALE PRAIAH OF THE WEEK JUST DROPPED
don't you love it when women make a silly little comment and get targeted by a misogynistic internet hate campaign?
This got reposted everywhere that I thought the anchor went on a mad spiel hating video games but in the clip her comment was "As a mother I would just say step away from the screen go outside and get some fresh air. Beating Tetris is not a life goal." right after the video of the kid who looked like he's been streaming for hours and so shocked he might start crying. I don't understand moids going "Shame on her for hating the kid!" as if she's evil. The whole thing is so benign. I know similar incidents have played out countless times before but I am surprised every single time by how little it takes for men to hate on a woman.

I caught a documentary about Brooke Shields on tv tonight. Absolutely disgusting what her mother and hollywood did to this poor, defenseless little girl. She just wanted to act, and not be seen as a sex object. And shame on the public for allowing this to happen. May her mother burn in hell for all eternity. Hollywood culture is pedophilia culture. The patriarchy is pedophilia culture. All, if not most men are pedophiles.

Everyone in this is ugly except the cartoon lady (both ages) and the old guy in the hat.

I recommend Ursula K. Le Guin's short story The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas.
I hate it, it's the trolley problem except the switch is at "kill one person" and they flip it to kill thousands.
And they say she was a leftist.

This reminds me, there was an old video in which (I think) a father posed the trolley problem to his daughter using toys and she had the trolley run over everyone multiple times.

Never understood why there are so many trad moids that hype Yukio Mishima up as "le based patriotic trad man" when he's just Japanese Nick Fuentes with the repressed homosexuality part too that 41% himself for a gay cause, while leaving his family behind.

And of course as like any """trad""" man he has a whole paragraph
how him fucking men is totally normal and not gay, and how men
fucking each other should not be considered gross or degenerate but
"normal".

Atwood took inspiration for various plot beats from various sources but the general premise is meant to be a critique of religious and social trends in America, specifically during the 80s. She's got a way with prose but IMHO the premise for The Handmaid's Tale is retarded and the novel is incredibly boring.

Null said in a recent MATI that women can't stop peeing. It takes effort and is uncomfortable but I can do it. Am I now a man?

I wouldn't say that Le Guin was celebrating the scenario. All civilizations are built on sacrifice and inconvenient truths. The story never gives the option to save the person in the basement, you either live with the this truth but ignore its horrors or you live on principles and disassociate.

I can understand hating a trolley scenario, people shouldn't have that power and it's frustrating.

I don't tend to get serious and political on the site but yes, the Handmaid tales was inspired by 1970s Iran but if you think that is a one answer ender to the influences and interpretations to the series, you are a special type of artist that the lower levels of Reddit can't contain.

The Right tended to throw shade at the phrase "It takes a village to raise a child" and "We live in a society" but the Right are no better at be social engineers. They just seem more fixated on the role of women. The fall of the West is often place on a woman's choice of mate and whether they are breeding enough or not. The modesty of women and virtue of women is the linchpin of our way of life to these people. There is little difference in my mind from a trad Muslim and a trad Christian. Men assume they have a place at the table to tell women how to be because they are acting for the embetterment of society, in other words social engineering.

Let people be individuals and worry about yourself for a change.
