Unless the woman dies during her assault, I notice that men tend to close ranks and cover for each other rather than try to find and punish the rapist. This includes (but isn't limited to)

It's uncanny; somehow men have no problem believing a dead woman was sexually assaulted, but an alive one is a "he-said, she-said situation." And since I don't actually think all men are evil, and I doubt that they are consciously keeping all women in a state of fear through this process of pretending rape never happens, I think men do this as a kind of defense mechanism. Like an ostrich burying its head in the sand, if good men were to acknowledge how appallingly common and ubiquitous sexual assault is, then they would have to do something about it; but that would be difficult, and this rape problem barely affects them, so men just try to block it out.

It's really astonishing how hard men work to avoid acknowledging that CSA and sexual assault among adults are so common that pretty near every woman has experienced it to some degree.

Men avoid/ignore things that upset them and are difficult to deal with. Once I noticed men had a habit of doing this, I started seeing it everywhere. The reason is threefold: it's something almost exclusively committed by men, it's almost exclusively perpetuated against women, and it happens a lot. This means that almost anyone knows someone who was either assaulted or the assaulter. Even men who will admit that SA is a very real threat for women will shift uncomfortably when you point out they probably know a guy who's at least a sex pest if not a full blown predator.

Why do moids think women have more advantages in the modern era? Yeah, there might be some, but there’s a lot going on they don’t notice:

• Childbirth is only done by women, and can include the following
  • Having to take time off work just for birth and recovery, which can impact chances of promotions later on
  • Hiring managers being hesitant to take on young married women due to them being more likely to need maternity leave
  • Men may die in wars, but childbirth is still pretty dangerous. At least in modern day, maternity death isn’t as common in the first world
  • There’s a lot of permanent side effects from pregnancy, with some women even losing teeth because of pregnancy. This increases healthcare costs for women
• Women that do have kids typically have the dilemma of work vs childcare costs, and to cut down on childcare costs, some women will only work part time
• Divorce laws aren’t as unequal as moids claim, and rarely does a woman leave with everything unless the man in question was at criminal levels of abuse
• Women will still take on more household chores than men on average, even if both work the same amount of hours outside the home

Women have way more right to be picky on choice of mate compared to men on these factors alone. Moids complain that women being given more choice is unfair, but if you’re going to be making these sacrifices like the above, don’t attach yourself to a moid that doesn’t treat you right. Most women are willing to leave the workplace to become mothers. The issue is: there are lots of men willing to father your children but not very many men who are able and willing to financially support them. Obviously, women are going to be more picky. Too many men only view a relationship as access to sex. The ironic thing is they complain about what “picky women” are bringing to the table when they still live with their parents.

Because women tend to do better on average in terms of relationships and jobs. I don't know if it's true that women have more advantages compared to men, but as a man, the young men I know are doing far worse then young women I know on every measurement, so I can see how they end up thinking that.

It’s really easy to fall into the trap of “my gender just has things harder.” Guys in the manosphere use similar logic when talking about divorce, alimony, and child support.

The longer explanation is there are a lot of issues with the relationship between men and society. The typical social contract is for a man to devote himself to his work and he’ll be rewarded with enough wealth to support him and his family. With the majority of the wealth being consolidated in the hands of very few, that is increasingly out of reach as everyone becomes wage-slaves. For many, success can only be reached virtually, within a fantasy environment. Men are just checking out of reality en masse.

But, to be totally honest with you, I don't think this American Dream fantasy that once upon a time, a man could earn a family wage so long as he sold his soul to a particular company, is real. (See: Death of a Salesman.) Men in every generation have been shafted by labor, since the Industrial Revolution.

I doubt there ever was a period of history which made the nuclear family secure on just one guy’s labor. Capital accrues more capital, and there has always been an upper class of lordlings teabagging the plebs with their generational wealth.

Also, vice isn't new to this generation. Before vidya, men escaped from their bleak lives by gambling, drinking, lotto, or practically living at movie theaters watching literally any film available. Maybe vidya uses behavioral psychology to encourage and engage the player, but I don't think that's going to be more addictive than laudanum.

Your forefathers dealt with similar challenges. I think today's men are just a little bit lazy and entitled, feeling that they shouldn't have to try hard at school and at work to get success. A lot of men here seem to think that they should be able to work an unskilled labor job and get paid enough to support a family of four with full benefits.

I think you’re a little confused. If I, personally, was a NEET struggling to get a gf, it is extremely unlikely that I’d be having cordial conversations in this thread and considerably more likely that I’d be seething in one of the woman hate threads.

I was only describing the “why” behind a nearly universal experience you likely share, where you’ve been with a partner who expected you to be a mommy bangmaid bread winner, while they played video games all day. I do agree with your assertion that vice isn’t new to this generation, which is why I used generic terms fantasy and abstract thinking to describe the way most men think. Here are a few historical examples:

1) Newton never had a family. He fucked around in his lab all day and did algebra. He is an old example of a NEET and the only reason we know of him is because his hobby happened to benefit civilization.
