Who do you guys think is the epitome of moidness in fiction? I cast my ballot for Ricky from Trailer Park Boys. Absolute atrocious father figure, always getting into insane mischief (or jail) instead of helping his family, and a giant sleaze who couldn't hold down a job even if he was held at gunpoint.
I do think Gaston from Beauty and The Beast presents epitome of moidness in fiction, as he is hyped by the people in his village as a noble ubermensch when in reality he's a complete misogynist with lack of boundaries, that's incredibly condescending towards Belle and despite treating her like a shit, he still expects her drop everything she wants to do to marry and orbit around him when he clearly has no intentions of being faithful to her (Wow, this sounds quite familiar) . When it's clearly cemented for him, that Belle will never reciprocate her feelings towards him, he goes downward spiral, becomes incredibly wrathful, consumed by jealousy and rage because of his own entitlement.
Also, Al Bundy. A misanthropic dude that hates his life and resents his family because it's basically a result of a shotgun wedding. He even made his own anti-feminist group after a strip club he frequented got turned into a Coffee shop for women. Although it should be noted that despite his resentment towards his family, he does care and love to some degree as he rejected numerous chances for happiness and personal benefits when he was given many opportunities to have that.
My other three picks for characters that present peak moidness are Bojack, Dr.House and Rick Sanchez.
While they aren't peak moid in a traditional way like Gaston or Al, they are peak moid through non-traditional means as they encompass an archetype that were all familiar, especially in this thread and is prevalent in present time aka:
"The incredibly condescending misanthropic dude who's bitter due to his trauma/past and because of it, is a pompous smartass that thinks they are leagues above everybody else, especially intellectually and that people around them are dumb idiots not worth of being treated like humans unless they are there to comfort them about their ✧*:・゚✧trauma*:・゚✧*."
But what is ironic about these characters in particular, is the fact that unlike Gaston or Al, all these 3 characters especially Bojack Horseman and Dr. House were written as cautionary tales of what NOT to be as a person and many times through their shows, it was cemented really hard that these individuals weren't good people, rather a very negative influence to those in their lives and their behavior almost always ends up with them alienating more people out of their lives, even those who were incredibly tolerant and patient with them. But even with all of that, it didn't stop moids from adopting these character's mannerisms ( believe me, I ran into a fair amount of dudes that adopted their behavior) and going "WOW HE'S SO LIKE ME".
TL;DR
