Anecdotal but the three guys I know that are into internet moidery (I'm including my co-worker who pretends to be a male feminist bc he's got two young daughters but definitely isn't) did have single mothers but bc their dads left / their mums divorced after the dads cheating. All three.

My co-worker whines all the time that he and his wife used to cheat on each other all the time but now he's always stuck at home with their (very autistic) children while she still goes out. I've heard a lot about their relationship and if what he says it's true it's the most dysfunctional I've ever heard, but I also think he lies a lot. When he specifically repeats their arguments the next day she suddenly sounds a lot more rational than she does the rest of the time.

One of the other two is a serial monogamist where you don't find out he's moved on until he's introducing you to his new girlfriend and he always acts like you're the idiot for being surprised. He's got to have cheated at least once. The third can't get women but I think would cheat out of FOMO if he finally did.

Basically these guys talk up a trad wife but would cheat on her once they had one. And then leave her like their dads did to their mums. I don't think guys who are raised on the internet, basically on porn, are capable of staying interested in real flesh and blood women bc people are inherently complicated and they can't handle that after growing up in an online echochamber.

Does anyone else feel a little afraid when men smile at you? No matter who they are... I'm always a little paranoid about what it is that they want. And the ragebait ITT doesn't help, because now I wonder, is he smiling because he's thinking about what it'd be like if some anon decked me in the face? Is he smiling thinking about disenfranchising me of my right to drive/vote/own a CC/do anything? Is he smiling because he knows he could break me down like a cardboard box in a fight? There are many reasons he might be smiling and very few of them are good. Even when it's not rational, I feel the hairs on my neck stand up and I know I'm making that deer-in-the-headlights grimace in return when I try to smile back.

This part really reminds me of something I thought about for a while.

Something that makes me roll my eyes is when moids online are cheering for young men that choose to partake in radically retarded ideologies such as manosphere or right-wing shittery due to feeling resentment for being raised in a liberal household where they're taught that the world doesn't revolve around them and to be respectful towards other women/girls or God forbid they are raised in a single parent household where they resent their mommy dearest still after all those years for not staying in a miserable marriage with their dad (that probably didn't put any effort into caring or raising for his children). They are celebrated because they are "breaking the conditioning" or whatever fruit loops terms they use, despite these young men unironically adopting ideologies that are going to make them more bitter, miserable and nihilistic as years go by.

Most people - and men - smile because it is a pleasant thing to do*. Sure some women might smile to seem pleasant or to seem (I guess) unthreatening, and sure some men who will ask anyone and everyone out might smile as a toe in the door to start a convo to hit on someone (anyone), or worse.

*I'm speaking American. American are historically known for smiling (ofc in reality it varies by region/ pocket/ sub-culture), to the point we at least used to be criticized for it (as fakes, wolves, etc., which - if you have ever known any Texans - can be true).

But most people smile when they catch someone's eye by chance, rather than just a stone-faced blank look or pretending they didn't actually. Most who actually engage in a conversation with someone they don't know well will smile.
