It took me so much effort to go to a doctor for my anxiety problems that had been really fucking up my life, and when I met with him he scolded me for my weight and told me to meet with a nutritionist. He talked down to me like I was some poor, fat idiot who didn't know what nutrition was. AND IT WASN'T EVEN WHAT I WAS THERE FOR!!
My current doctor is so much better. She actually listens to me when I have a problem and doesn't zero in on nothing but my weight. When I did finally ask her about my weight (it went up suddenly,) she pointed me to an endo who discovered I have PCOS and diabetes. If my male doctor had cared about my health beyond how it makes me unattractive, I could've been treating those hormonal problems A DECADE AGO. I might never have gotten to this size, and I could've known what kind of diet and medication to be on that would ACTUALLY help, rather than making me feel like a failure over and over.
Male doctors suck, they just don't care about anything beyond shaming and assaulting us.

The movie is still somewhat graphic because of the subject matter, but Patrick Bateman isn't portrayed as a wish fulfillment fantasy, but as a pathetic and violent turbotard who's obsessed with status.

AITA for eating samosas while my girlfriend was being harassed?

So every now and then when I need to destress, I like going to this bar near my house. Things have been pretty stressful at work recently, so a few nights ago I went there with my girlfriend. I'm not really big on drinking but they have the best samosas which are my go-to, so I ordered a bunch (maybe like 15 or so) for me and GF to share but I guess she's not so big on samosas so I have to do most of the work of eating them

We're seated at the bar for maybe 20 or so minutes when some guy comes up and sits down next to her on the opposite side from me. He strikes up conversation with her, but I didn't really say anything because I was still working my way through my third samosa (after a while they really start drying out your mouth and you need to kinda take breaks in between, so I was trying to get through all of the samosas with no help from her)

I'm still focused on trying to get through all of the samosas that I paid for when GF nudges me and tells me we need to go home and feed the dog. I ask her what she's talking about and point out that we don't even have a dog and then ask her politely not to interrupt me while i'm trying to destress. She then excuses herself to the bathroom so luckily I don't have to hear from her for another 30 or so minutes until she comes back, and by then the guy's gone and I'm nearly done with the samosas, so we finish up and get going

On the car ride home GF starts yelling at me calling me stupid and telling me the guy next to her was making her feel uncomfortable, and that she wanted to go home earlier. I asked her why she didn't just tell me that, and then that if the guy was being a problem she could've gotten the manager to kick him out, and that she's an adult and can deal with these things herself. Also, I said it was really unfair of her to expect me to just waste all the samosas that I paid good money for over some stranger, and that if she had helped me eat them we would've been able to leave sooner, to which she responded by calling me an AH and saying I valued a few samosas more than her (which I think is unfair because I didn't say that and she's just putting words in my mouth).

So, reddit, AITA? My GF insists I was in the wrong for not helping her out, but I was just trying to destress.

That’s a more accurate depiction of the condition anyway. It’s neither strictly better nor strictly worse, just different, and without emotional affect you don’t have the context to care about what you’re missing out on anyway.
