I've come around on surrogacy... I used to think it could be OK, if it was practiced more morally, now I no longer believe that is possible. It's just unfettered capitalism, to the point it allows people to sell pregnancy as a service, to appraise women's value as potential egg donors or surrogates in the system, and to trade embryos and children like objects. It's too close to slavery and human trafficking; rich men like Elon can buy themselves a clone armies' worth of kids, and poor women are used as broodmares as an exercise in medical tourism.
I would say IVF is different, it's OK if it's your own eggs reimplanted into yourself. But I'm against IVF with donated eggs.
