Honestly this, for a number of reasons. During sex with men, you are less likely to achieve orgasm, you are more likely to contract STDs and STIs, you risk pregnancy (if you are in America, this is extra terrifying), you risk being devalued in your social circle if you have mutual friends, you risk being raped or murdered. Yeah, early twenties for a lot of women is sadly prime time for moids to take advantage of them. It really should be a thing for older women to teach younger women of red flags in moids to look out for. Behavior in moids that women in their early twenties would put up with, or even try and frame as romantic, is rarely ever tolerated in women that are in their thirties and above. Moids have caught onto this, which is also why I find it a red flag when a moid, especially a much older one, thinks 25 is “too old” for a woman. It’s pretty much a sign that they want someone easier to manipulate. I guess one nice thing about faster communications and the internet is that it’s much easier to look up information on what an unhealthy, or potentially abusive, relationship looks like, it’s just a matter of reminding people these resources are available.

I find her music uninteresting and if someone hadn't just mentioned shake it off, I would probably have to think awhile to name a song of hers.

But - She's unassailable in most ways (before the dumb political slap fight with our Very Dignified President) bc she's wiped the floor with everyone, money/ success-wise but they can't find a way to make things about her be but so bad. Certain men hate her out of envy, fear, and frustration, all in one. All of the following play into it:

• But yet she's not beautiful (she's cute, and looks great, but objectively she's a little plainer than the usual megastar, and she has bad hair), which should mean she's not so successful...but she is.
• She came from very high privilege (both generally and for getting in the business specifically) - and doesn't apologize for it - or tbh say much of anything or take bait on it at all.
• Despite the privilege, she clearly also has certain kinds of talent, along with general appeal to an apparently huge audience, and a lot of savvy - either her own by now or the savvy to listen to the right people.
• She doesn't act "slutty" to sell tickets/music, and she doesn't do it otherwise.
• She's never had a big fall - no rehab, no arrest, no kid out of wedlock...not even a catfight (Trump aside). Some cringe breakups and Ye being mean to her a hundred years ago (lol I just saw that that crazy fool is still trying it with her).
• She reveals basically no personal info, other than boy stuff in song.
• She reveals little about any dysfunction or personality/other weird tic.
• She rarely if ever gets shaken enough to say more than she wants to.
• She has a gaggle of girlfriends, which suggests she's normal and likeable.
• She's a serial monogamist so they can't really call her a slut (they try but it's weak and never gains traction; her relationships last a bit).
• She isn't messy (other than the infernal crying over or getting mad about exes).
• She clearly wants relationships, and wants men, but has never once hinted she was available for or pandered to the proles' fantasies.
• Her weight, despite being poked at, hasn't varied all that much.
• She said fuck you to the industry and played hard but fair, took back control of her creative output, and succeeded with little fuss ultimately, because she had the money to make it happen and navigated the process exceptionally well and quickly. That's Michael Jackson-level intensity and money to throw around, and it's terrifying to those men (and therefore perceived as emasculating by the insecure) to see any woman, but especially a young, desirable woman, with that much power.

The worst that gets said and sticks, aside from the political clenching, is that she's a Stage 87 clinger - which may be the case, but men in a variety of professions and levels of success have spent time with her and didn't criticize or call her crazy later. And Travis Kelce seems pretty comfortable. So either she's okay, or she's that powerful so they're not risking it. Both options are upsetting to certain men.

In sum, they hate her because she's basically immune from everything: she has the world - money, genetics, power, seemingly unending adoration from a gazillion rabid little people able to persuade their parents to spend thousands on a nosebleed seat; and she didn't have to do what they think women either always do or should have to do to get it.

What I've heard of her music - which is admittedly very little, since I don't listen to the radio, don't watch much tv, nor check out popular music out of curiosity on Youtube - it does seem to have little substance. I couldn't name three songs if you held a loaded gun to my head. The one I've heard and I did like was that song with The Civil Wars. Every critique seems to be a greater critique that could easily be made about what popular music I have heard, regardless of the sex of the artist. It is an industry problem, and has been for decades. But it's always more convenient to pick on whatever rich, blonde pop star is the name at the time. Debbie Gibson, Britney Spears, even males with huge female followings like Justin Bieber got it. But Taylor hasn't crashed and burned, which makes people all the angrier.

insanely overpriced concert tickets which hit the wallets of young girls the most, and she's mostly just the pretty cover for a money-grubbing machine operated almost entirely by greedy men who are siphoning cash away from the middle and lower classes into the pockets of the already rich.

This is a greater critique of the industry at large. Yes, huge pop stars overcharge for their slop. Beyonce, boomer acts like The Rolling Stones, and many others do it too. It is also the fault of monopolized shit like Livenation/Ticketmaster, which price gouges horribly. Even tickets for a Livenation club show cost 60 bucks or more, I had to deal with it when seeing bands like Kreator and GWAR. It wouldn't bother me so much if all that money actually went to Kreator and GWAR, but at least $12 of that was just parking. Livenation venues also take cuts from bands actual fucking merch booths now, something that is the very lifeline of a touring band that plays in clubs (which is 99% of the music I listen to). Livenation/Ticketmaster needs to die in a fucking fire, or at least be broken up, badly. Singling out one woman won't fix the deeply entrenched issues of the industry. Yes, she is a symptom of everything that sucks. People should maybe learn to focus on the cause.

I wish the age of the touring festival would return, but it won't, at least not in the US. The recession fucked over Lillith Fairs revival (she also cites changing tastes in music as well) and it hasn't improved. Gas is too pricey for all of that, there's too much overhead, Livenation is even worse than it was in the 2000s. I paid 38 bucks to see Ozzfest in 2001. You won't see all day festival prices like that again, especially not in arenas. Can it be done? Maybe, if artists fight Livenation. The Cure seem to be trying to fight the good fight. But Lollpalooza stopped touring. Ozzfest eventually stopped, and it was probably the most popular one of all. Warped Tour is talking about doing a three location tour in 2025, we'll see how it goes. All female events are, saddest of all, dead too it seems, and with trannies screeching, I don't see a RETVRN TO TRADITION happening.

The model has switched to Woodstock/European festival multiple day events in one location where you have to travel, the bands don't travel to you.

Especially when we can point to male artists who could just as easily "represent everything foul" in the music scene. Or even spread it out to other women artists who are just as guilty.
