tbh irl dating these days is as bleak as online dating. 99% of events and classes in a 50 mile radius that aren't tabletop gaming or crypto lectures are populated entirely by women who also tried to find a partner irl. Men are quite vocal lately about preferring to stay at home with a beer and a video game instead of going out. Either because they have no friends, feel awkward about approaching women, or have a mighty fear of rejection -- see how many are desperate to persuade women to make the first move and woo and pursue them so they don't have to lift a finger anymore. But I love going out to events and taking classes and it's striking how rarely I see young, single men out and about in general. I'm very well aware of how bleak the reddit situation is. I'm a fag so I love women, and I've been using r/actuallesbians for a very long time cause why not, I love women. The only lesbian sub I use nowadays is lesbiangang, I can't find it on the subredditoverlap site strangely enough. I messed up, as a nurse I'm taught to be open, honest and self reflective about mistakes to absolve my self its really kinda religious in a way (i could go so much more into how religion has shaped nursing to be quasi-cult like but back on topic). Because they asked i thought it was okay to share and from there it just went horribly, thank you for the advice, I read it but never took it on till i messed up which is such a nurse thing, we start out working 1 year supervised and suppotered as a new grad, even after 3 years of uni and 800 hours of supervised placement, we're going to make mistakes and its the worst soul destroying feeling to be the one filling out the riskman but whats important is we learn from our mistakes and self admit our errors so we don't make them again, this isn't the worst time I've been humbled, some weeks it happens daily but i got too into arguing and fed the scrotes, if i could take it all back i would but for now I'm not engaging in their peanut gallery anymore, i know i messed up.

I definetly get where you're coming from as someone in medicine myself. While it's a very good quality to be open about your fuckups and shortcomings in that kind of environment as even small mishaps can spiral into fucking someone's life over, on places like here you will set yourself up for disaster. As a previous user said, never divulge too much info about your personal life; best case scenario users will laught at you, worst case people can use hyperspecific info to actually find out where you are. Although, as a word as advice, don't do this irl either. Medicine fucking sucks (most times), and the way it's marketed as a lifestyle to get people to work gruelling hours really can worm its way into your brain, but your life outside work is your own. You seem very kind and sensitive, I know nursing can be tough for people like you. What about music festivals for women looking for someone decent of either sex?

Dancing is one of my favorite activities and I now actively am contemplating no longer going out alone. The amount of reports of sexual assault I hear about around festivals (especially if camping is involved) is a topic of concern for me. Personally nightlife as a solo woman has gone from sometimes uncomfortable to actively off-putting. Literally all I want to do is vibe with cool people but the amount of unwanted verbal and physical contact is making my inner misanthrope think twice about being "out there".

It's funny, I have pegged men's general reactions of gender strife as projection but never put that together. I've been a counsellor/instructor/trainer-type person for disabled/troubled teens and twens, including autistic boys, and they managed to find girlfriends.
The difference between those whining helplessly and those getting partners is the latter group tried to work on their shortcomings and wanted to overcome their unique difficulties (that's why they where at my institution): they worked on improving their lives. And women know: pro-active males who put work into solving their problems are good partner material.
The ones you describe are just excusing being lazy and possibly falling in with the wrong crowd ('tism boys tend to be naive).
