I agree that birth control started this. I could and do argue birth control shouldn't have been invented. However, given the lengths our ancestors have gone to in their attempts to do so, this argument feels like a dead end. Ultimately, though slipping a condom on or popping a pill is a very different thing than killing a living organism. The problem with sex being fulfilling is the Grass is Greener Syndrome. Sex is most fulfilling when you have fewer partners to compare the experience to. That's why people with fewer partners have such lower divorce rates.
