SS13 fucking sucks and I need someplace to rant about it so I don't commit a hate crime against the next tranny wearing cat ears I see (In Roblox). Most servers are a fucking joke. Gay metagangs and statics everywhere, people cozy with the admins that can get away with breaking rules, the same 3-4 antags over and over because all the fun ones got cut. You can't even say gamer words when someone is doing a shitty "uwu i'm gonna kiww you now :3" traitor gimmick. Not to mention all the people that are the most sensitive fuckers that cant take jokes are also the same people that only ever play ss13 so one wrong move and you get table slammed to death and the admins just say "Well you shouldn't have escalated". For a social game, it really prioritizes hiding and not talking to anyone so you don't accidentally upset the wrong catgirl or tranny moth or getting exploded by an antagonist that crosses your path and decides you aren't allowed to have fun so whatever you were working on the past 30 minutes doesn't matter anymore. The rules are so nebulous, that whether or not someone gets punished for something all falls to whatever admin decides to stop RPing with their friends to answer the ahelp. I finally uninstalled Byond today because I can't take anymore of the shittiest gaming experience I've seen for a long time. It's not even a good enough game to justify putting up with all the shit you have to deal with all the fucking time. I could rant for hours about all the reasons why SS13 is garbage from a game standpoint, but I keep going back anyways. The idea of the game is great, but in practice, its just infuriating chaos.
I will relish the day that Byond gets shut off for good when SS13 is dead and gone from the entire tranny playerbase and coderbase killing themselves and driving the rest away with bans. I don't know what it is about it. Either you have the coolest and funniest people or you get trannies that cant take a clown doing a silly on them.

Thank you for your time, I just need to vent while I drink away my anger.

Only play on servers that let you Neighbor at the troons. Such servers generally have zero troons as a consequence. Trust me they exist, but are often not on the hub. VGstation, (https://ss13.moe) still has a cool pop size and low troon proportion.

I personally continue to mald that byond as a whole is the one and only thing I have encountered which is wholly inaccessible to linux, but perhaps a better day is coming.

There was a Linux and OpenBSD (Yes, you read that right) client version made by the dev but they discontiued it.
 
Yea I read back a bit and see its been gone for a bit now. I do have a custom ss13 fork and can host it if anyone is interested (would assumedly need to be okay with lowpop only)

Say "Ligger" over the radio and see what happens. Current Admins are trooned and it got super woke. Names you use to be able to use that are even remotely offensive in their eyes are now restricted. And no I'm not talking about a borg naming himself "NiggerSlayer 3000" at the round start but clever puns or naming yourself a caveman speaking in third person while running around in an afro and spear as a captain but playing legit, which I did many times for a decade until i was punished for it in 2021 with a perma on custom skins/names for rounds because the admin found it offensive.

I don't mind some of these systems, especially when making the Chef more of a role to not just fling uncooked slop or simple burgers onto the counter but it treaded too close to Baystation levels unfun "realisms" Removing cloning, making getting healed a bitch, and removing Lord Singoloth really killed it for me. /tg/ use to play a really good goldilocks middleground of not too realistic and not too anarchistic. 2019-2020 just saw a massive change. Oranges tenure as headhuncho of coderbus really did the server over back then.

The stars more or less aligned. Both headmins and the codebase was compromised and then you had the infamous SSSeth video, which while very funny, saw a massive surge of tourists flood the server making them unusable for quite some time, lot of the regs peeled away only to come back months later to see things radically changed and lot of former admins retired. Even the era of an uber autistic tryhard like Kevinz000's reign as an admin feels nostalgic.

I have, pretty recently. A couple of weeks ago I got hit with so much lag in highpop the round was unplayable, so I got on the radio and announced to everybody that "I don't particularly care for all these mange-ridden maggot-eating LIGGERS on the station". Then I told everyone I'd be at the bar, and waited to get lynched.

Nothing happened. Not ingame, not in ahelps. A couple of borgs showed up to try and rescue me from possible human harm, and I had to Law 2 them to go somewhere else, but that's it.

Whatever you guys are seeing, I'm not seeing it, and I have looked.
