Man, I honestly like this server, not to big on the whole lolcow thing I mostly like watching the Podcast Null airs as background noise, pretty comfy too, but I'm afaraid that it's going downhill at this point, maybe making the server a public listing kinda package wasn't such a good idea, in the other hand, having made it private might have just left it to rot and die, I just hope it makes it, not enough N'wah stations out there.

why dont we gang up on power gamers, if some clown is ruining a round militia up and gib it

Pretty much exactly what I was warning would happen when Null made the decision to put the server on the public list.

I get that people didn't want the server to stagnate and die from too few people playing but it requires some currently unconscionable effort out of the admins in order to keep the shittery in check.

And some poeple ask me why I powergame as a greyshit.
I expected at least some amount of shitters when I started playing on this server, but lately the amount of them is overwhelming. Alts after alts after alts. You can only take so many toolboxes before you get downed, no matter your skill or equipment.
Honestly, the admins can ban and ban and ban, but against a absolutely dedicated retard all this will do is buy us some time.
We need a way to prevent this mass alt account spam. However, I'm empty. Any ideas?

If appears that the shitters are primarily targetting low-pop rounds. Could just be the fact that there are admins on in the higher-pop rounds, but I believe they deliberately choose rounds with less poeple on to have the best chance to murderbone the entire station. If you are just two guys, thirty other guys you need to murderbone is quite the feat. However, ten or so seems doable. After the successful murderbone, they camp arrivals and fuck over any new dude joining.

If this happens, we might need to start joining as sec in low-pop rounds in order to spawn reasonably armed against this type of shittery.

>Be me
>Be greyshit
>Normal round, station has holes everywhere, corpses in hallways
>Escape shuttle gets called
>Get to departures
>Like a dozen other dudes/dudettes there
>We all stand around for a few minu-
>CENTCOM ANNOUNCEMENT
>"What the fuck was that!?"
> ohfuck.jpg
> "GET THE FUCK ON THE GROUND," I yell into comms, "REST!"
> I rest
> Miner looks at me
> Miner thinks: "Hurr Durr prone player must help intent."
> Miner 'helps' me to my feet
> I start typing profanities in text box
> BUT THEN
> a Wall crumbles as a rod flies right through it
> Rod flies past me DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF ME
> Rod impales miner, kills him instantly
> Rod passes over a doctor, who rested
> Rod escapes into space
> Doctor stands up and thanks me for saving their life
> Mfw my advice actually saved a player's character
> Mfw I actually got to shout "I FUCKING WARNED YOU!" to dead miner
> Mfw ANOTHER rod comes flying, killing two borgs in one shot
> Mfw

EDIT: Spelling

the singulo got removed
Let me quess: They cited powergaming as the reason they removed it?

Why are we bothering pretending that orange does these things for 'Bugfixing'?
We might as well rename the supermatter to "Orange's Shard OC donut steel'

This worked for me about two weeks ago? And someone else posted before that. Singulo would have had to been removed really recently if that's the case.

Player rating system. If you don't get any demerits after so many hours you spawn with some kind of department appropriate weapon.

Is it a new functionality or is it still just a chance to proc on
throwing someone into one?
It used to be an on push/throw thing now something has to fling it into the vending machine really hard, smash the vending machine or get very lucky with a throw.

that's a little OP and can be pretty gamed. On a side note why did they have to remove craftable omni lathe boards? Collecting all the lathe board pokemon was pretty kino

everyone one guy will fight the shitters and get swarmed
Don't get in a routine of dealing with shitters like my dumbass did. I know it's not easy but we need more late US/Early EU jannies

You have to find out where they live and then murder them with a pipe bomb in real life not in minecraft.
The only way to do that sadly is to do something that'd damage the numbers further. Whitelist, forum account link, weird job prerequisites, being a closed invite only community, etc. A more proactive way in general is to encourage the server culture to be full of more chill frens and more people will act accordingly id like to think.

Problem with that last part is, how are you gonna send that message over to the people that have no idea what Kiwi Farms is and are just public listing bystanders, not to mention the people that don't give a fuck and just want to shit it up, will continue to shit it up, going private might not be too much of a bad idea if we are following the plan of chill frens in the end, as the regulars who do act out the plan will most likely pass on that code of behaviour without the need for direct say, certainly worked with me when I started playing on /vg/,or who knows it could end up on just 10 forum members playing for months with noone passing by it.

Again, I don't post here so perhaps I'm off target in regards to some things.

It was a pretty dumb idea to make this server public. You have a forum with lots of users. There should have been more internal recruiting attempts before opening the flood gates. Going public is a last resort when your server is dying and a sign of a bigger problem that is not being addressed. Usually servers are listed publicly when they're losing population and facing a death spiral of dwindling population. With the influx of new players you stop the server from a death by attrition, but it's only a temporary fix. You're in the reverse situation, your server should gradually be trending up in player count as it's new. Going public is just shooting yourself in the foot by pissing off your newly established playerbase. It shouldn't be used just to boost the player count.

The best case scenario when making your server public (exceptions to servers with a radically different codebase or a gimmick) is that you end up with a late stage HippieStation. The new clash with the old, and eventually end up pushing the old away. You've got a somewhat active server, but all of the good players are long gone. The only players you are left with are no-RP formulaic powergamers with nowhere else to go. Eventually they get tired of killing each other and the server becomes terminal HippieStation, with like, what, 5 players on peak hours?

Pubbies are mostly low quality players. They drift from server to server, accumulating permabans for being retarded griefers with no restraint. TG gets to get away with siphoning the few pubbies that aren't shit because they are the biggest server with a massive codebase and team. That's enough for the average NPC/normie, it's the only thing they care about. You're not getting that audience. You are only getting their scraps, and making your server worse. Recruit internally, not externally.

Well, you can recruit externally, but target communities with a similar culture and beliefs. I came from a/v/ thread for example. A lot of people are not happy with the way that most servers are trending. Make it known that you won't tolerate insane far left takeovers and a tranny admin team. Make your server explicitly right wing. See Conquest's Second Law.

After many experiments, I can safely conclude that you CAN'T convert the SM into a Tesla engine

Next up: hot loops and 100% tritium engines

first time eating a perma ban and I really don't like it to be over a misunderstanding. Sorry if im shitting anything up here.
I wanted to give this some time to see how you interacted with the forum, consider the matter carefully, and also Christmas shit.

I've changed your ban from a perma-server to a role ban for three months. You can't play heads or any cargo role, as being a shit cargo spesh man was the reason for all this.

If I see or hear of you going self-antag again during this ban you're going back on perma. Consider it a parole, don't fuck up.

Big thing if you're gonna stick around in the forum, try not to multipost, I've seen it fairly often with you. Its a server rule that if you suddenly have more to say, but you were the last one to post in a thread, you simply edit your thread to include the new information or replies or whatever. It just helps with readability around here.

This is a terrible idea.

Its a misconception that KiwiFarms is an extreme right wing community. We certainly have those kinds of people here, and they're vocal as all hell, and because of the culture of this place, they're tolerated, but not endorsed. There are posters who are famously (or infamously, depending on your own stance) just as outspoken and set in their beliefs for both sides of the current American political spectrum, who express their views without official reprimand. This is not a political forum, even if politics are discussed here sometimes.

Politics on this site actually cause a great deal of problems, when people take their beliefs too far and say really, really stupid shit here. To be frank we don't need that kind of trouble in spesh, read this thread long enough and we got enough problems without adding politics to the mix. Space Station 13 is a silly game about speshmen and a clown having a regular work day on a space station that goes wrong, not an asylum for any political viewpoint, or to simulate their societal fantasies.

At the end of the day, jokes are jokes, but if you're actively working to enforce your viewpoint by ensuring the only people that show up are ones that agree with you, then you're not focusing on having a silly fun time in spesh with a clown where your day goes wrong.
