I'm sorry to see this go if it were the case, but yeah.

I feel null on point 1, and 3 super hard. I do what I can, but my life affords me scarce time for internet funs, and its hard for me to be an "every night [x] to [y]" kind of moderator. Because of that I'm part of the problem for point 4. I wish I weren't but its the truth, and it sucks, and I'm sorry about that.
When I do get a chance to slip on for internet funs and get to the server to moderate, I try to make fun out of it for people and enjoy myself a bit as well, but moderating SS13 is not the same thing as playing SS13.

I would rather not see the server go, but I understand null's frustrations, and if its just not fun, then its not worth it.

I know some servers and server bases (usually off the grid, coders trying to make FTL, or weird experimental games, or variant VG servers and such) will host specific times the server will be up - like, "Only Saturday nights from [x] to [y]" or "announcement, guys I'm throwing the server up for a few hours jump in!" kinda thing. Maybe trying to set "everyone its game time" events, would work better than aiming for 24/7 consistently moderated server space?

basically, here are the issues with the server

1. I started it because I wanted to enjoy SS13 again without dealing with trannies, but as an admin I can't play and enjoy the game.
2. Without me playing, the server is mostly unmoderated.
3. I am too busy to moderate.
4. The pop has tanked because there are no admins online ever, which has killed its traction.
5. I wanted to fork out bad changes from /tg/ upstream, but because of how rapidly /tg/'s upstream changes, even maintaining that is a considerable amount of work.
6. Dealing with upstream means dealing with /tg/ trannies and is incredibly mentally taxing and circularly defeats point #1.

Unless anyone has any objections I'll probably close it by the end of the month.

I was the miner. I also found an interesting way of stealing, and managed to take both a detectives and the captain's satchel. The captain had Murdoch's brain in a MMI for some reason.

Honestly, you could still probably salvage the server if you take it off the hub for now, link a new address for those of us in the thread, and have the admin team crack down hard on shitters.

If people want to continue playing I'd need some more serious organization. A github maintainer would also be great. I can't really force people into those roles, though, so I'd need people stepping up to plate.

I'd love to keep the server a shitter free zone from probably 10;00 - 13:00 CET and 22:00-00:00 CET.

Experience: No experience with the admin tools, know how the game and its intrigues work mostly (Except athmos which i am still learning). I used to play on other servers from which i got banned for starting a cult of white supremacy or killing ERPing furries as security, so this is pretty much the only station i can find refuge in, its my personal Israel.

I've considered volunteering for janny duty, but I've never jannied for SS13 servers before so I don't know how the interface and tools work, and, truth be told, I wouldn't have much patience for shitters either and I'd probably bring a lot of heat on myself for handing out temp bans left and right for blatant shittery, because if there's one thing the average SS13 shitter is adept at, it's throwing the loudest and messiest tantrums possible over being put in their time-out corner. The only quality of competence I can vouch for myself is that I've had extensive experience playing the game off and on over the years and that I've never once caught a ban from any server on my main ckey.

I would make a terrible Admin, I can't really bring myself to ban people if they can explain away their misdeeds as ignorance or misguided vigilantism, I am also a complete retard at the game itself in most aspects

Sad shit, but completely reasonable. Regardless of what happens, @Null I just wanna say thank you for making SS13 fun again for just a little while.

I think it's a good idea regardless to slow down, take the server offline for a little to shake off the non-kiwi retards, and then evaluate from there. I'm with what others suggested: limited server times - no more 24/7. Make it Saturdays only to piss off the NEETs, or maybe just put up a poll and let the people & bots decide.

And don't keep us on the public list if the server stays.
