Notice how old Youtube videos have a feeling of you can talk about anything and if your pasinate enough you can succeed with a niche audience before every video has ads on them whether the creators want them on there vids and sponsorships and beg athons for patreon. Where the editing and video wasn't great but you can feel the passion and it was exciting. Hell you can troll idiots and be the number one video on the site instead of The Tonight Show with washed up comedian from dead cable. Then again these types of videos aren't gone it's just management has changed. I beleive this video that is a few years old is a good example of old Youtube.
 
GradeAUnderA's videos felt like the last dying gasp of 2008 Youtube before he started doing advertisements and sponsorships too
Even the dumb drama videos still fit, one difference is that the video clips used inbetween the MSpaint doodles are in higher quality.

Cr1tikal also felt like a remnant of that original Youtube aesthetic before he revealed his face and his videos became zoomer-appealing vlogger Youtube ~ I n f l u e n c e r ~ shit and he started making holier than thou rant videos on whatever target the Influencer in-group attacks, whether it be other in-group disapproved Youtubers or even audiences. I share the same hatred of anti-vaxxers, conspiracy theorists, Karens and flat earthers as Charlie does, but I don't feel the need to reiterate that shit every fucking thing I post. Though, maybe he only does that because his audience has the attention-span of goldfish and forget whenever Daddy Charlie isn't forcefeeding them the same opinions over and over again for them to digest and believe.
 
for the last decade I've only ever used youtube to watch minecraft lets plays so I'm pretty indifferent.
 
Paul Harrell is about the only one I know that fits this bill thats still around. His videos today are shot exactly how they were 8 years ago with basically the only difference being camera quality. He's kinda anomaly as he has 600K subs and still gets 70k to 400k views. This wide range is probably because he doesn't tailor his vids to what the audience wants, but what he is interested in and if the audience is interested in it too, cool.

He has a pateron, but never talks about it. It's just in the description and he doesn't even try to promote his other videos. He's just a guy that likes talking about guns and equipment in that sphere. Here is his video end card he's had for years:

I’d take the Naruto, YuGiOh, Black Butler, and DBZ AMVs over whatever commentary community drama shit I see that shat and came it’s way into my recommends. Unironically.
 
I miss old Garry's Mod videos and Source stuff.

 
About 10 years ago I watched a video of a guy sperging about youtube removing the star ratings and how this would descent into garbage and corporate content polluting the site while screwing up the small creator.
Thanks god this didn't happen and we can enjoy a variety of videos like the 9675th gay drama of the week and curated corpo media. And don't forget that we are being protected of hatespeech with youtube deleting the channel of a humble water filter salesman.
