His grandfather Julius immigrated with Tom's great-grand father Simon on May 21, 1885 at the age of 7. Julius became a citizen on Oct 17, 1900. Note in both records, Julius is a bookkeeper confirming the connection. JS Wasserberg, his wife Rebecca, and father, Simon. along with Theresa and Dorothy, his daughters.

Tom doesn't have actual views, he's never developed beyond being a self obsessed teenager who does anything they can to appear interesting, and who talks about how much they hate their stupid idiot parents and how society is shit, and who thinks all the jocks are assholes and morons and that girls should date them instead, all to compensate for how impotent and personally underdeveloped they are.

Even when given the opportunity like he was with this inheritance, down to the last dime the only thing he knows to do is wander around like a fat house cat that managed to escape out the back door trying to find someone who'll take his money and spoon feed him success just like he's used to.

Point is for individuals like Tom it's safe to totally disregard their stated viewpoints since the extremeness of said viewpoints are usually directly proportional to the holder's inability to put any of them into effect.
