One Piece - I'm Gonna Be the Pirate King!

He..doesn't need to declare war on Imu and the WG cause he already did.
He did on the WG, but Luffy doesn’t know about Imu. And there’s no guarantee Luffy will pick up on anything bigger than another opponent standing in the way of his ambition and whatever the objective of the current arc is.

It’s funny. Everything about the endgame (finding the treasure and how the person who finds it will determine the fate of the world, along with the final war against the world and the WG that’s going to be kicked off by finding the treasure) has been talked about in terms of being this massive thing, and it’s going to come down to the most simple minded of dense, simple minded shonen heroes. Again, Imu is not ready for Luffy’s level of not giving a shit about the bigger issue at play, and how the one who has Joy Boy’s power is a dense fucking dumbass.

What if that's what we're meant to think but that's not what's going to happen?

What if the reason Imu isn't ready for it is because Joyboy was the same as Luffy and it just gives him Vietnam flashbacks?

Look at what happened with the knot, and Emet's flashback surrounding it. What if this is precisely what he's expecting because this is what happened the first time (Joyboy got involved to whup people's asses while his friends handled the bigger picture)? It would account for why he's keeping tabs on Luffy and Blackbeard, in addition to Shirahoshi and Vivi.

What I mean is that we always had weirdos in the fanbase. It sucks but we did. One Piece is great, it attracts both the normal fans, the analytical ones and the marker sniffers.

Me too, but it is the nature of the beast. The people we do not like will also like what we like. We can either check their behavior or just sit whining about it. And by check, I mean call out.
I get that you want to be reasonable for some reason. But I much rather have the weirdos and degenerates than the activists. Ones enjoy OP even if it's for specific parts or enjoy some way too much, but the activists just want to reshape the current thing to their own image and defile it. We have seen this so many times. Good for Oda to be a world sensation, but I'd definitely be happier if it was a series with enough fanbase to keep being serialized but niche enough to not attract the npc hordes. Hell, we already see their retardation between the Yamato thing and now the Robin casting.
By evolution, I mean improve on writing techniques. Foreshadowing, callbacks, narrative etc. One has to improve over time.
And you know perfectly what I meant with Yamato zipper tits. I've also followed Anno from Evangelion fame a bit and the fucker has been all over the place thanks to personal and external influences. Thankfully, Oda seems like a man that sticks to his guns for the most part and his evolution how you define it has been mostly in his art. I do think his narrative has gotten better at dumping information but he's been good with setup for decades.

Biggest evolution he's had is giving lots of information per chapter without making it too heavy, since there is soooo much lore yet he doesn't want to spend another 20 years writing OP. Basically, I miss very very much the 1v1s, but I also understand why they almost never happen and would love all of his random notes about characters to be published. Supposedly he has detailed backstories of every single member of the Charlotte family.
A Government Threatening One Piece with stupid bullshit is setting up Oda for the most savage comeback.

He literally just sends an intern with a giant version of this spread

Pretty much. Absolutely bonkers that the npc brigades are bitching at Robin for being born in Ohara and acting like if Robin would agree with their faggotry. Thing is OP themes about freedom and rebellion are so open ended that anybody can latch on to them, which is what makes it universal after all. Your standard starbucks commie is the fucking Celestial Dragons, yet they cannot conceive themselves as anything other than plucky rebels and OP is not so on the nose that it would make them notice.

Worry not, activists are getting tossed out left and right. What we need is enough heads. Heads like those of Budlight, H&D, GW, Ubisoft, Disney and others. Heads that we can point at when a company courts activists. To ask them to choose between us and them while informing them that should they choose them, our head shelf will need to be bigger. Look at SBI, DEI etc. Those terms are the kiss of death in the eyes of many, let us make it so that everyone knows how much it costs to cater to them. The activists will not listen but the companies might. And if they do not, that shelf is going to be filled evermore.

Oda never removes tits. He only ever adds them. As for evolution, Oda has evolved as both an artists and a writer. He might be influenced by his surroundings but he is not a leaf in the wind like the leftists.

That goes for every commie really. Look at the Soviet Union. They considered themselves working for the people while starving them. Do you think Stalin was ever hungry or cold while in his palace like his serfs were? I do not think he was. They think of themselves as about as priviliged as a beggar even as the hold ultimate dictactorial power.

Imu *IS* the WG and Luffy knows the setting he lives in, look back to Alabasta when he shit on Vivi. His reason was that Vivi was fucking around trying to avoid direct confrontation with Crocodile

Again, Imu is not ready for Luffy’s level of not giving a shit about the bigger issue at play, and how the one who has Joy Boy’s power is a dense fucking dumbass.
Luffy won't give a shit about the bigger Issues...but Luffy will 100% give a shit when he finds out that Imu killed Cobra.

Edit : Reminder Cobra fed Luffy a feast after Luffy beat Crocodile, so just on that principle alone Luffy is at least gonna want to kick Imu's ass..if Imu gloats about it infront of Vivi, Luffy is gonna try to kill the shithead.

I’m pretty sure Luffy would go after Imu just for capturing Vivi. It’d be like Robin in Arnie’s Lobby or Ace at Marineford.

Sounds plausible, but that’s just stuff reserved for endgame exposition.

I hope Vivi doesn't get captured by Imu, I find it more fun that morgan's party joins up with the Cross Guild like another poster suggested. Croco and Vivi interacting again could be neat and of course, she would be smitten by the future true king of the pirates, Clown D Buggy.

And Wapol along with Foxy would be perfect for Buggy's dynamics.

Now that I think about it there's probably something that really must've ticked Oda off regarding the World Government/Marines. Up until around Alabasta (and definitively changing with the end of Alabasta and Water 7), they were seen as the antagonists to Luffy and the other pirates but generally the "no fun allowed" type with most of them being honorable with only a few corrupt bastards in there (the rat guy from Arlong Park, Morgan, etc.). Koby wanting to join the Marines wasn't seen as an act of betrayal, he was just on the opposite of the law.

Starting around Alabasta on and escalating to Water 7 the government is shown to be straight-up evil, with kangaroo courts, wetwork squads, and genocide, with "heroic" Marines like Koby or Smoker to be more of the exception than the rule.

And the strawhats aren't terrorist because they don't have a political agenda.
Oh they absolutely are.

‘Freedom for everyone’ would certainly be a valid political agenda if Luffy could be bothered to think deeply about what he wanted and what it actually meant.

But that’s why Luffy has his crew

There’s a reason the first thing Koby does upon hearing what the OP can do is declare that he is stopping Luffy at any cost and likely putting him away forever.

But the new fans realising this would require them to be able to think about the nuances of the story or listen to what characters flatly.

It would also explain why the first thing he did after Wano - after Joy Boy returned - was prep his mobile nuke blaster and demand Vivi be obtained.

Imu is not fucking around.

Can this not be another culture war sperging thread?
I wasn’t even sperging about the culture war. Meetly commenting that the Marines have every right and reason to want to kill Luffy dead and fans are dumb for not seeing it.

Akainu should have killed akoby at Marineford.

Doffy’s thing is having a big, hard throbbing vein.
dude is angry and on edge nearly all the time lol

it is wonderful to me how people have convince themselves that Robin is "black" because nowadays if you are slightly darker skin complexion people's brains default to black most likely african since it is the only black they know.

Honestly, I think that this could just be just a matter of raising the stakes, kind of like how folks talk about The One Piece as time went on.

Joe Manganiello should teach a class on how to behave when starring in nerd shows. He may or may not have read the manga, but he seemed to retain enough to give competent and respectful answers. The broad is just like, "I had my dream therapist read my future and she told me about this role." WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU EVEN TALKING ABOUT YOU DITZY BROAD???

Commodore Teach writing down his plans to make rape illegal in his New World Order. Garp’s screams of rage at this plan echo throughout Hachinosu. His fury at the thought of his masters being unable to rape whomever on demand reportedly is even heard by Enel on the Moon, who was busy punching a Lunarian in the back of the head.
