That is in line with what WB said about Rocks too.
It would also be more interesting if he’d had the perfect plan and went in and got wrecked anyway because Imu is just built different.

Usually it’s always ‘plan would have worked if I’d had x’ very, very rarely is it ‘holy fuck, we really weren’t ready even with everything’

Also makes for a great Imu show if Rocks goes in fully prepped and gets mopped.
It's very likely that Imu, the Gorosei and the God Knights all got involved in trying to take down Rocks .
Oh with GunkImo being a thing Imu absolutely got involved and we know Saturn was there and we know the other Elders can move via the Abyss.

Oda’s set everything up to paint the picture that Rocks took the equivalent of a nuke at point blank range repeatedly.

And we know Imu likes their nukes.

I really doubt God Valley was a simple 1v1 fight between Roger and Rocks.

It's very likely that Imu, the Gorosei and the God Knights all got involved in trying to take down Rocks .

It wouldn't surprise me if some of his crew also betrayed him during the fight .
Silver Axe in particular looks very suspicious, he's a probably a secret Marine working undercover, his X scar looks just like the one X Drake has.
That is the danger with getting your crew purely on stats without caring whether or not they have good chemistry. Rocks got strong people but they were fighting amongst themselves and hated each other.

I think that "fully prepared and still failed" will be BB's story. Rocks is different from his son. BB learned from his father. Plus, it is a good way to differentiate the two: Rocks = strong but not very smart (still smart though), BB = not very strong but far smarter.

Well obviously. I’m just saying that it would be better if Rocks went in with everything he thought he needed.Even if he actually needed more and got wrecked for it as opposed to missing something and going in regardless.
Like the Straw Hats getting BTFO'd by the Pacifistas
Exactly.

Yes but that would make their approaches identical. It is best to differentiate them from each other. Different strengths and weaknesses. Also, it was said that charging guns blazing at God Valley was not his original plan but rather an impulsive distraction Rocks allowed himself in a fit of anger and humiliation over his treasure being stolen.

And Rocks. They also hated Rocks.
I'd love to see a plot twist where it's revealed that the real reason none of the former Rocks pirates ever talk about Rocks after God Valley is because they all felt deep shame for failing their captain in the moment of truth, similar to how Joy Boy's crew felt shame for not being able to help Joy Boy win the Void Century war in the end.

Was that ever established, or is that theory? Or is that another case of “endgame material Oda is sitting on because it relates to what Luffy does in the present”?

I just laugh at them coping that "NOUGH LUFFY WOULD LOVE ME" and remember that Yamato is the best GIRL with a big ass pair of titties and instead of crying to a therapist about Daddy issues She tried to kill him like a real fucking G.

Edit : Remember Oden is such a fucking Chad the guys want to be him....and THE GIRLS ALSO WANT TO BE HIM
Loden and Loger are absolute MEMES compared to WOCKS AND WARALD

So... what's the other Devil Fruit that Rocks wanted?
Also we now know why Big Mom was sure having the Giants on her side would have made her King of the Pirates, beyond their obvious military power
And finally we get Silver Axe debut (and it's giving me Denjiro debut vibes, this might be a false alarm though)
Silver Axe is a fed and likely the man marked by flames. He just gives off major red flags

I just love the fact that peolpe can't pay attention to simple things in One Piece but can try and break down how Oda specifically wrote a trans allegory to a character that wants to be a man not because of gender nonsense but in the most literal since because of her severe daddy issues and being disowned by her own father. She desperately wanted an idol and Oden was that guy lol this ain't hard to figure out.

Blackbeard is also incredibly impulsive

Kaido really should have got it over and with just fucked some sense in to her.

And the girls daddy’s whole issue is ‘no, you idiots none of you are HIM. Why do you think I’m so fucking depressed.’

Blackbeard is also incredibly impulsive
BB is opportunistic. He takes advantage of situations that present themselves and might change plans if there is the opportunity for a better result presenting itself. He could not catch Luffy but did run into Ace who was chasing him and managed to get WB killed as a result and became an emperor by capturing his territories.

Also, he sticks to the plan. He had the opportunity to fight Luffy in Impel Down but he dropped it after an initial scuffle because he had to follow the long term plans. Rocks would have wasted time fighting Luffy. BB understands that he cannot afford to be too impulsive.

Do not get me wrong, he does underestimate his opponents but that is after he thinks that his plans have worked.

Blackbeard is also fat, and Rocks is not (and probably wanted to be King of the World because he let being the King of Games go to his head)

So who do we think the Man Marked by Flames is going to be, and what do we think the remaining arcs are going to be? I think that after Elbaf, it will be Roadstar, then Raftel, then Marie Geoise/Final War, then a big epilogue party with a ton of extra special flashbacks for everyone involved.
