Holy fucking shit Oda, I kneel.
I’m pretty sure Blackbeard’s plan is (still) to use official schemes and elevate his status to become the king of everything like Imu. Except he won’t get that far because “he isn’t the one Roger is waiting for” and Luffy clearly is. The only question now is if Blackbeard goes down before or after Luffy faces Imu.

Yeah, but that was already established as normal. Treating other humans as expendable was the exact thing we saw them do when they were first introduced. Remember Charlos choosing to FREE some women like a pet owner freeing a canary he does not care for any more? Killing the mother of his children was like taking your shitty car to the bad part of town in order to get it stolen and collect some insurance payment.
And the only question left is how they got to that level of entitlement to see all those things as normal. While Oda just has people building up their resentment with each appearance.

i have a feeling the celestial dragons are all being lied to and have been for a very very long time and those lies resulted in most of them just being terrible people. they are all most likely also slaves that fail to realize they are slaves because they have been taught that things like nika and joy boy or people with the will of d are going to be the end of them when in reality they are just higher class slaves much like the navy used to do the bidding of imu.

Yep the last chapter made me like Rocks more than Roger, which is a shame because I think the next chapter will be about his death.

My assumption is that Roger is ultimately going to learn something from Rocks Davy D. Xebec that forces him to stop being a foolhardy retard. We will also learn how Garp is a total fraud and likely killed Xebec while his back was turned and engaging in polite discourse with Dragon after Roger calms him down.

I’m wondering now if the Devil Fruit sinking has a connection to Davy Jones. Like Davy Jones is in some ocean pit in a worse than death immortality and he has power over Devil Fruits that results in him attempting to drag a user down to free him. Or maybe the ocean is him as a Logia user.

Not surprising that Dragon was a Marine soldier given that he is Garp's son. But that he's the one who saved Teach from the Human Hunt seems like it will be revisited before the end of the series.
The last few panels are a mess, I also thought this, but what Dragon finds is Shanks mother, not sure if the babies are with her or not, Teach and his mother are trapped in a cage of sorts and seems like a different setting compared to what Dragon is seeing, so maybe they are another one of the prizes of Gods Valley or they will be publicly executed for lols or they are just there chained to fuck with Xebec if he shows up.
All we’re seeing now is the full circumstances of what happened, and then the question becomes when this whole thing becomes public knowledge in the One Piece world in the present day,
Well, Morgans was already operating on those days and his network was already peak, I wouldn't be surprised that he KNOWS and is keeping that in his backpocket till the right time.

I think it's very much by design. We thought Rocks was a Luffy type (I expect Joyboy at most to be one), he's not, closest similarity is "what if Sanji was a captain" and even then his focus is to just fuck around in the sea. God Valley changed him as a man and gave him a mission. From God's Valley onward is when he becomes Roger the Pirate King and not Roger, the eternal simp. Though I do also think the government hyped up Roger as the king to better erase Xebec from the history books, it just so happened to fuck them over when it turned out that Roger took things very seriously and dedicated the last years of his life to trigger the great pirate age.

Nah, Roger isn't "Sanji as a captain"

Otherwise he would have died of bloodloss long before he ever became pirate king.

He only ever simped for Shakky... and Presumably Rouge at some point.
Fair point, he zones out Gloriosa hard. Just want to emphasize that Roger pre God's Valley is just "some guy" in the grand scheme of things,

Bro I hate newfags spoiling everything. I know where to get spoilers, you ain't special for knowing. I'd rather wait. I've blocked a few noname channels for spoiling shit on Wednesday. Shits been getting worse since 2020 I hate tourist.
He’s a step above Luffy in that he actually shows something resembling intellect
Luffy can think, as evident by his time on Impel Down. He just chooses not to.

Its obvious that Xebec is the true hero of the story. Managed to control several monsters while still fighting for a respectable reason. Garp just wants to hunt slaves.

I guess I never really considered how old Dragon is. Looks like he’s operating on the same timeline as Koby literally most characters in the series.

My (sober) guess about the next chapter.

Xebecs and Rogers will arrive to God Valley and form a temporary alliance to save Shakky.

They begin battling the God Knights, which leads to either Imu and/or the gorosei showing up. Xebecs will sacrifice himself trying to land a killing blow against them. The WG will then make up the lie that Rogers and Xebecs fought each other and Xebecs was killed in order to cover up the existence of the Knights, imu, and the human hunting festival.

Rogers will have no idea what just happened but he'll have gotten enough of a peak behind the curtain to make him stop being a drunk horny retard and begin actually exploring the grand line in search of answers. This will lead to him finding the ponyglyphs and eventually the one piece.

Also, nice to see the “all pirates good, all Marines bad because Celestial Dragons are allowed to be above the law and get away with everything because reasons” trick is still working as well as it does.
I think most Marines genuinely want to serve. Only a few know of the Five Elders, and I assume many get told to met things go (such as Smoker when he was forced to take credit for Alabasta). But Garp knows full well the WG not only enslaves people but hunts them down for sport. At least Roger knew he didnt have long to live and started the path Luffy will finish.

And now we wait to see why it only took until Luffy came around for somebody to have enough issue with what the Celestial Dragons do to punch one of those Celestial Dragons in the face. Though this chapter could also set up Dragon creating the Revolutionary Army.

About which marines are monsters and which aren't Garp being in God's Valley is a pure coincidence, not because he was summoned. So I imagine they send to their genocide runs the most morally bankrupt/follow orders no matter what of the bunch, but then that brings us to why the hell Dragon got dragged in there. Do marines that get uppity just get killed, dumped in a ditch and a fake death report is filed? It's the best I can think of.

I thought it was established that the Celestial Dragons had it entrenched where the Marines are their dogs to enforce their dominion and power. And now we have the God’s Knights who seem like a mix of true believers in the Celestial Dragons mantra and those who Imu picks to be a servant of Imu. Again, we just have to wait for Oda to explain the backstory.

People don't punch random celestials because they don't want to deal with an admiral. At this point its obvious the CD don't care about the options of Marines. Either they follow orders or someone else will. For every Dragon there is an Akainu. And even he wants to break free of the CD.

Dragon being in the Marines was first mentioned in chapter 1097
