The only issue I can see with that is the title of King of The Pirates is more or less a made up title the press threw onto Roger. Also the entire WG has shown themselves to be preaching about “pirates are bad”. What would make Imu any special?
while luffy is probably a counter to imu I doubt its that simple why would joyboy have lost if its that easy.

i always assumed that was because he views himself as above everyone else even other celestial dragons. i would not be surprised if he was controlling someone though. maybe somebody who had a thing for lili or just wanted to protect her only for imus will to consume them entirely until only imu remained. i have seen people say that imu is controlling the body of joy boy but i am not really too sure about that.
The only things I can think of that are essential to understanding Imu are 1. The shadows Imu and 2. Imu’s shadow powers. Part of me thinks that everything about Imu could be die without Imu being in shadow and Oda’s “only see the eyes” design, but at this point, virtually anything could be said about Imu and it could ring true since all we can really do is speculate with practically nothing to work with.
Given what the Celestial Dragons constantly get up to and literally glorify, as well as Imu's obvious feelings for Lili, isn't Imu the literal king of the rapists?

it sounds to me like joyboy got tricked with how everyone we meet that knows him seems to want to apologize including joyboy himself leaving that note to fishman island apologizing as well. but as far as haki. joyboy was clearly a haki god that much is for sure but he did have the nika fruit since thats how zunesha and emet were able to recognize luffy as joyboy.
