Wait now you wanted it to be longer? I'm confused now.

How would you do it then? I'm curious how you would fix this part of the story.
I would want the God Valley flashback to have a narrative and not just be a random exposition dump in the middle of a different flashback.

Honestly, God Valley should have been told during a conversation between Blackbeard and Garp. Blackbeard giving the version that involved his father and his father's crew, and Garp giving his version of events. Maybe Blackbeard is angry because he thinks Garp is the man who killed his father and prevented Rocks from freeing the government from Imu's control. Garp could apologize and give Rocks' final words to Blackbeard. And in the process of telling the story, we would have learned more about each character and their worldview and motivations.

You know, something that involves telling a story and not just vomiting lore.

And where would you put that conversation? Before this arc? After? In the exact same place? How would you tell it, making it a story and not just vomiting lore? And how is it vomiting lore if it showed us exactly how it happened?

I guess before. It would've been an good introduction to the God's Knights prior to their appearance in Elbaph, and help build hype for a group that, honestly, seems like a step down from the Gorosei.
I see.

Have you thought that maybe Oda wants to expose blackbeard's side of the story later, because there are things he doesn't want to reveal right now?

Of course. That's one of the reasons I wasn't expecting to see God Valley during the flashback of a guy who wasn't even there. But my complaint was more about the expositional nature of the flashback. Compare the Noland flashback from Skypiea to God Valley and its night and day. One is a story with characters and a narrative, and the other is just a disconnected lore dump.

Most fans actually miss the "crew dicking around on the ship" segments. It really is a shame that despite modern arcs have over 100 chapters each, Oda never spends that time on the characters just interacting with one another.
Today my curiosity got the better of me and I clicked on the "This content may grind your gears. Click to see anyway." and was quickly reminded of why that guy is like the only poster on the site that I have on ignore. Lol what a dumbass.

edit: In my opinion the Harald and God Valley flashbacks are just that, two separate flashbacks being played concurrently. Necessary to the whole story? Perhaps, but it clearly messed up the pacing of this arc and I was annoyed with how long we spent away from the action in the present. Combine the fac that we just got through the Harald flashback and that I wasn't hugely invested in the God Valley characters (sorry, Rocks and ideal wife lady, you just aren't interesting,) and I was rooting for it to wrap up and get back to either the Harald story or the present.

I think it established a clear parallel between rocks and harald. Immensely powerful men who sacrificed a lot for their ideals only to show nothing for it. They even were mercy killed for the same reason.

Bullshit. We know absolutely nothing about Rocks' motivation for doing what he did, his "ideals" or what he sacrificed to chase them.

we will most likely end up going back to god valley later on. i mean dont forget kumas backstory involved god valley as well so i think its just one of those parts of the story that you can only say so much about because it might spoil things for later on. my guess is blackbeard or dragon will fill in any of the blank spots along with any possible gods knights backstories if we get those at all.

Honestly, be real, the One Piece crew are pretty left-wing coded. They probably would hate Trump, who acts like a stereotypical "bumbling idiot" villain with the vain boasts, fucked up face and goofy way of speaking.
yeah one piece is definitely progressive/liberal and there are certain things you can link to current events. Such as the Summit War and how the government mistreats their troops for their own benefits or the health care problems in Drum Kingdom. But their are alot of stupid connects I see people make. Ex: a few years ago I saw people on Twitter linking the Ohara destruction to "Maga and the nazis banning/burning books with different ideas" which is retarded.

so i was thinking about this earlier but is there anyway another time skip could be in the works? personally i dont think its possible unless we end up finding some form of hyperbolic time chamberesque thing in that lab lilith and franky are checking out.

which speaking of that lab i think time skip or not franky is going to get made into a pacifista but without the memory removal part.

I heard that Elbaf has some time dilation shit going on, but I might have misread.

@IamSpechal and @Incecticyder do you two know what I'm talking about?😅

Aren't they second cousins, potentially?

I honestly don't know if Zoro's gonna be slaying pussy any time soon, even in the future. Sanji and Pudding are more likely to reunite and actually marry for real before Zoro even finds romance (if he doesn't get lost on his way to the altar).
I’m still betting she’s a clone or some shit. Sanji’s dad probably made her and got pissed when she didn’t get memories like Stussy or the current batch of clones he has.

oh yeah i remembered someone link andrew tate to the celestial dragons, which is accurate i guess. It was after he got his ass kicked in the boxing ring and someone posted the clip of luffy punching saint charles under a news article

the more you learn about the shit the world government and all the scientists in MADS were doing the more likely this becomes. i could totally see some random cp-9 member showing up one day to zoros village and seeing kuina and going "hey she has really good sword skills lets take her and use her to make clones for the navy"

I could see it as a proof of concept, “this cloning method almost perfectly copied this dojo owners swordswoman daughter. Insane if we did it with the warlords!”

Considering the clones are born babies (Stussy looks and is 34 yo and was born when her originator Buckingham Stussy was 42) and age at the same rate as normal humans, it is not possible for Tashigi to be a clone of Kuina as they are both the same age.
