I'm beginning to realize it's also why I don't really tune into the channel often anymore. Because it's the same jokes over a different background that they don't interface with.

Of this year's Boneyplays, I liked... Mortuary Assistant? And sure, they didn't pay attention to it and their first little run got them killed for it, but that's funny. They were interacting with the spooks and what was going on, and the banter didn't feel like the main draw. What idle banter there was often gets interrupted by the game, and they don't just ignore it. So that's more than last year's, I guess.

Everything else just feels phoned in. Even Fear & Hunger, feels like Chris loses interest from the moment the dogs punish him for loafing around. Seeing another "clickbait streamer game aimed at children" title appear, probably just to be an easy ad revenue generator - I get it, I get why that's there, but man is it ever not for me.
I don't know, it's weird. On the one hand, I love when they're subversive in that way where they aren't just making the playthrough about their opinions. I they mainly do that for blind playthroughs which makes them way more bearable. At the same time, it's hardly showing the games at their best when they do that but things like the playthroughs of weird obscure games that DD's showing off are great when they aren't just bantering all the time and there's also the times where they're just having chill discussions about games during a playthrough where it almost feels like a podcast.

I suppose it depends on the game but I just like that they're just being retarded around each other

Hey guys. New to the thread. Been watching Oney since his Newgrounds days. Just autistically rambling here.

Tbh I rarely (if ever) enjoy watching YTers/streamers play horror games. Unless the player is actually focused on presenting the game and its atmosphere, they're usually too distracted talking with chat or to their friends. As a horror game fan, it annoys me, but sometimes I'll pick up a game I find interesting.

I've watched the Oneyplays Witch Hunt and Skinwalker Hunt series a few times over the years because it's fun to watch them figure out the game. Unlike a game like Fear & Hunger, the punishment for dying/losing isn't so severe that progress is lost. But things like Fear & Hunger where the punishment for losing is a major setback that requires you to actually remember what you did, where you were going, and how to improve your approach to the challenges is what gives a horror game tension. But Let's Plays aren't about presenting a game, they're about the player showcasing their personality to get that sweet ad revenue for low effort work. So I can see that very deliberately designed mechanic be regarded as annoying since it could mean that an entire run is edited out of the video.

I'm about the same age as Chris and crew. I don't know if they've always seemed disinterested in the game they're playing or if it's just something I've started to notice. Seems like all streamers I used to watch are getting burnout or entirely annoyed with their audiences. I wonder how much longer Oney and the boys have it in them to play games for $$$ before they all become dissatisfied with low effort work. I would feel like I had better things to do with my time, but idk how deep into it they are. Don't big YT channels get managers or something?

New pumpkin carving stream

By the way, does anyone know the status of the name-your-price microgame they were working on 2 years ago? The one where Julian was animating different sea creatures for months? I think the last news I heard was the game was now in the coding stages but now I'm just hearing about a new rhythm microgame they're working on. These boys can't finish anything can they?

He looks alot better here, much healthier than in the stream video before. Maybe it was just the lighting that made him look sickly. So, his hairdo is just a elaborate comb over or what?

He just wanted to be the crypt keeper for their Halloween stream

The story about Corey breaking his switch like an autistic spazz and then sadly playing DDR after realizing there's no gamestop at the mall to get a new one is one of the funniest stories they've told in a while. Dave comparing him to Kobeni made me spit out my drink.
The twist that he never remembered he had a screen protector on and he only cracked that instead of the screen was the cherry on top

I think they just need to play more shitty games like forspoken or just play super obscure games that are just fun to watch. We need more weird pc/PS2 games

They do need to get rid of Cory though.

I do. I'm rewatching Internet Historian's video on TLoU 1. Still funny.

Storymode is, imo, better than his main channel stuff. So much funnier with way more shit to riff on. I've watched most of them multiple times and never get tired of it. Those early ones were pretty bad, though he hadn't figured out the formula yet so it's understandable.

Have nothing to add to the discussion as far as being burnt out on watching, or feeling like the cast is phoning it in. Mainly because, yeah, if you're playing video games for money you're kinda phoning it in already. But also because I simply haven't been interested in seeing them play any of the games they've been messing with in months and/or hate the couch line-up. So I end up just going back to something I've seen already. Like the sasquatch game or Heart of Darkness most recently.

Though I will say I can kinda see where some are coming from. Some of those older videos do have a very different vibe. But I mainly chalk that up to them not bending over backwards as often to avoid any no-no words or off limits topics. Editing seems to have taken a drop too, in more recent times for whatever reason.

Early 30s, he have actually lost a lot of weight but almost all of his streams are lost media now so I can't really compare.
Just go to his Deviantart. Lots of stuff in plain sight. Can't believe the oney fans hadn't found it sooner, there's an earlier portrait on there. Although I went back recently to find a particular drawing and noticed he's begun deleting stuff.

I wish he hadn't become 'internet famous'. It's messed him and Dingdong up. He's really talented and his gothy art was amazing. I miss when he was just another artist on DA.
