Trouncing a level that once gave you trouble and dodging obstacles that knocked you on your ass is god damn satisfying, and it's no different in Sonic tbh. Advance is sweet.

Yeah Cory is just bad at the game, Sonic Advance 2 is not like any other sonic game, or even the other advance games, it uses springs, rails and boost pads to trick you into going into the slower paths, thats why it is the first sonic game where the sides of the springs dont count as a wall and instead activate it, its too make them work as a trap
 
Chris' wendigo story really came out of left field, but what makes it even creepier is how you can tell it wasn't a bit. Whether it was just some prank or an actual shapeshifting demon from hell, he actually saw it.
 
just came across this -- dingdong (with julian) bitterly shitting all over every facet of what's generally considered an indy game masterpiece:

i look back fondly at their time with oneyplays but this "playhthrough" to me is just toxic and depressing. they misunderstand game mechanics and then spend long minutes complaining about them, they criticize shit that's not even in the game but that they think MIGHT be in the game, and we miss the first hour of them complaining about the developers' incompetence because they, the critics, were too incompetent to get their mics working.

maybe my favorite negative thing is that they accuse the devs of carefully setting the game's pacing to TRICK people into playing it for 2 hours before discovering it sucks, so it's too late to get a refund. Yes dingdong i'm sure that was the strategy.

to me hating NITW is like hating undertale or something. is it perfect? of course not, and the ending is a dumb mess, but come on. the soundtrack alone is all-time great, as is the small-town atmosphere. The boys even hate Demontower, its addictively stupid roguelike minigame.

i can understand if your ideal gaming experience is Escape from Tarkov that the jumping bisexual animals having emotions are not your thing but this is dingdong and julian. NITW is basically indygame catnip for depressed homos. idk they just seem jealous of it or something.

Yeesh, I was hoping that the break up was mostly amicable.

And night in the woods? lol I guess you could say I was "tricked" by the game when I played, but I also went in blind. DingDong can be so fatheaded at times. Although, someone mention me if those two bitch through undertale lmao

I remember noticing the funny stuff with Mick and Veronica a while back and thinking "damn she went for the Big Chinese Cock (BCC) and Mick got his Mestizo Maid he wants so bad" but I guess it worked out for the better since he appears to have gotten with a way hotter (and stable) Costa Rican. It's funny you say that cuz Dingus Dong ALSO hates undertale. Never played NitW but I think it's cute looking at least. Ding Dong has a mixture of extreme sour grapes syndrome and being stuck in that grade school mentality of "ugh they take themselves so seriously I'm so above that." He's a seriously solid programmer as far as I can tell, it's a shame he lets himself work blue and tear down successful creators but I guess there's a reason guys like him try to fly solo.

The real shame is DD is probably gonna see this one way or another and let it fuel his paranoia that we're gonna come after him or some shit.

Night in the woods IS garbage though, it looks pretty sure. But the characters are all fucking tumblrsonas. The dialogue is complete garbage, and it was made to appeal to the fucking dregs of society,

Jesus fucking Christ I hate arty farty bullshit games made by people who think they are saying something deep, but it's all just gay anarcho-socialist wet dreams.

I don't get why people defend this game. It's just a 2D walking simulator. This could have been a flash game series.
 
things that ARE good about nitw:
  • the music
  • the art style, environments and all
  • cozy small town
  • angus
everything else is bad. nearly every character relishes in how much of a going-nowhere loser they are

night in the woods and, surprisingly, deltarune are the only two games I've ever played that touch on something very personal to me.

so I like em and anyone who doesn't is wrong and should suffer and die, honestly.

People getting annoyed at ding dongs cynicism is kind of a double edged sword to me. On one hand it's like who cares why get upset at all that the faceless man on the internet talks bad about something you like. On the other, I understand that he can be kind of annoying and extreme with it sometimes, notably to me during their tomb raider series. I don't even like that game and have never played it but it's the only OP series that's legit annoyed me listening to it
