Over the course of this one playthrough Cory went from sounding excited to play one of his favorite games, to the most miserable he's ever been

I thought DD/J's parting of ways ways purely because of the Game grumps gay game, and I remember supermega catching some strays in that stream. I always assumed they were still cool with chris. Very lame and gay of them if true
You know for a while i just kind of accepted that DD got slighted in some way leading to his whole rant but honestly i can’t remember him being specific about any of it and i guess i really dont know anything about it at all. I know it had to do with the dating game but that was it. And something about “woe is me my family found out im gay and they dont like it”.

Like a week before the game dropped, DD tweeted something about how the game was pandering and how there were no gays working on it. Suzy and Brian tweeted that DD hadn't even played the game and the drama spiraled from there.

I usually like Cory, but I hate how much he derails the AI videos and how his contributions to this series have mostly been "editor put meme on screen," backseat gaming about all of the PvZ videos he's watched, and playing like it's his first time ever playing PvZ when it's his turn.

Also remember him admitting Chris never helped him during the Dream Daddy situation
Is that even true though? Who knows if Chris ever confronted anyone about it but as I recall those events led to Chris no longer being able to record at the GG office (which was a good thing since their recording setup was notoriously shit). So clearly Chris cared enough for DD and Julian that he was willing to burn bridges with GG and relocate in order to keep recording with them, thus keeping the money flowing for those two. To me that seems like helping.

His mother and father are angry at him and they blame them at him, he admitted. He wants everything about OneyPlays OFF. THE. INTERNET!

I figured DingDong was cool with Chris when they got back together for YiiK. That was almost 5 years ago, so who knows.
From the few bits that have come up, he still seems to be on good terms with Chris, but what others have mentioned with him not wanting to primarily be known for OneyPlays still stands. It's also been floated that he (and Julian?) don't want to be featured in anymore of the BEST OF.

It's somewhere in my post history, but some months ago someone asked if he would do another recording session (Oneystays) and his response was essentially implied, "Probably not, but maybe if it didn't get in the way of anything." He also said something else about most people from LA essentially stopping contact, which tends to happen if you move a long distance away.

As for mentions of his name being filtered out of the subreddit I believe that was the case since him and Julian's moved to Hicksville. I remember during his 2023 stream meltdown people seemingly were long referring to him as "the alien" to get passed the filter.

Currently DingDong has been streaming rather routinely, at least 2 scheduled days a week earning $300-$500 per stream and sometimes 1-2 more. It started with occasional Saturday/Sunday streams with him citing it being a free time thing, but given that he finished Dominoid and might not have any contract work going on he seems to have a lot more time and could use the dono cash. It could also be the two of them having more free time normally spent on the Halloween thing that they're skipping this year.

The streams have been unexciting for anyone looking to watch any meltdowns or lore. It's been a lot of him hyper-focused on one game for 5 hours straight and talking about it. I feel like he may have quietly conceded that he's cut out for streaming given his endurance, or unintentionally did so. He just wont call himself a streamer or letsplayer because it's icky.

And something about “woe is me my family found out im gay and they dont like it”.
Edit since the mods don't like double posts: DingDong's mom use to beat him but kept him strung around as a tool to stay connected to his (seemingly) deadbeat dad. So I think it's safe to say someone like that would make a big deal out of anything. I can imagine finding out that her son who was molested / raped at a single-digit age (and didn't help) was a closeted gay for 20 years would absolutely result in an abusive / angry phone call from her.

When he went on at length about the lovelies spilling the beans to his family, he stated they "disowned him" which is probably hard even if you hate your family.

Dingdong cut connections with his mom mid-late 2023 and he's barely ever mentioned his dad more or less. So I presume divorced family and or deadbeat dad.

Because its actually not one of his favorite games. He's probably never touched this game. It's a game he's autistically watched thousands of Youtube videos on and is now trying to regurgitate strategies he himself barely understands because he saw a Youtuber doing it. Most of the strategies he keeps trying to do like putting the sunflowers in the front are only needed in a handful of levels in the second game or in survival modes if you're going super deep in.

Damn I figured something had to be wrong for Ding Dong to end up like he is but getting molested and growing up with an abusive mother that did nothing to stop it explains a lot. I won't be able to make fun of his tuba vore shitting fetish anymore. :(
I really do hope he gets better one day before he spirals enough to off himself or something. He's living life on the level of misery of a speedrunner.

Since it's hard to archive streams and DingDong had the habit of drip-feeding backstory, the extent of his trauma is only known to people who chime in for a bulk of his streams. Every time he shares an anecdote or a detail however it paints a wider picture very well.

He grew up in upper-class Chicago where he cited that people were very self serving and valued their connections over everything else. He has a story about some rich kid throwing a block of ice against the back of his head and nearly causing a concussion, but since it was the rich son of some dude he was the one who had to apologize as if he made the story up.

With that established to set the tone, when he was molested / raped by a teenager at a single-digit age the teenager supposedly didn't get in in trouble and no one believed DingDong. Easy to imagine it was another rich guy's son where everyone would want to look the other way. Every now and then DingDong would say something like "I'm pessimistic because I've seen how shitty some people can be." and it's easy to understand why.

Another story is that when he tried reporting his mom's abuse to his high school they didn't listen or take it seriously at first. It was only after staff spotted his mom yelling at him during drop-off and smacking him until they got out of the car did they try listening to him (and given his attitude about it, he was already fed up with the school and he didn't pursue that until it was helpful).

Frankly, it's outstanding that he's not on par with Pamperchu and the worst thing his family could cite is that he tops of a fat Mexican.

As a funny extra; lizard OCs among furries are sometimes seen as a red flag of them being either an asshole or mentally ill. The recognizable pattern strikes again.

For the future I'm trying to clip anything funny or of interest to support my posts since I learned how to do short recordings, but the streams have been tame and he's learned to ignore anyone trying to pull him back into the crash-out modes.

Cory 100% is the guy who just copies the meta, gets his shit rocked anyway, and short circuits because he doesn't understanding why he isn't winning. Then he goes back to watching porn and fisting his tranny to ease the stress.

But does he still try to refund the donations or does he keep them nowadays? That was always very gay of him.
If people donate a lot, and toward the end of the stream he still raises that you can reach his contact email for a refund. That started as a thing because some people would donate to try digging for more GameGrumps lore, or they're chasing the dopamine of a streamer reading their name. The economy has been shitty for a while too so there's some valid concern if someone's donating a lot very often.

It also might be uncomfortable for some people to get a lot of money from donations, I recall him sounding bothered if it was ever more than $100. But since he's comfortable getting that $300-$500 per stream nowadays that's what has me thinking he's conceded a little to being a streamer, or otherwise likes / needs the money right now.

Since I Felt Like Speculating On Their Finances:

Keep in mind this is just off of their streaming for the last two months, presuming there's no contract work going on.

Going off of some napkin math from my post here, they probably make $2,500 a month off of their Patreon now off of 310 members currently. Supposedly there's only processor fees with Streamlabs and the two of them are making $420 - $700 per week off of streams (presuming they're putting some away for taxes), so their joint income without account for Julian's Twitch memberships (or commissions) might be around $4740 a month for the last couple of months.

There's no indicator on where they live now unlike last time, but with the current housing market rent everywhere with fees amounts to $1,900 a month minimum if you want to live somewhere with any amenities and not in squalor. Even Wyoming is like this now, shit's lame. Electric and water can be another $400, so that's $2,440 a month for the two of them to mess around with before food. Food is annoying to figure out because it's either $40 a week if they just eats rice beans and eggs, or $300 a week if they eat out and get snacks.

If we just guess $300 a week for joint food, that's ~$1,240 a month for spare income and projects. That's enough to hire a part time artist or save for a nest egg, or commission some music for his WIP rhythm game. There hasn't been any word on what the current project is, but apparently Trigger Treat didn't finish this year like they hoped.

tl;dr if DD and Julian keep streaming 2 days a week, they certainly make enough to save and get some help on making their games.

Zach is busy making/promoting a wildly popular cartoon a actual TV. Tomar is married, has a kid, and lives in New York. Dave and Cory (allegedly) work for Newgrounds and live in Pennsylvania. Somehow all of these people are able to make the time but Ding Dong can't.

It just seems like he's not interested cause the excuse doesn't make sense. Get in the way of what exactly? If it's such a hassle to physically visit, I'm certain Chris would be more than willing to accommodate an online recording session. Maybe no one contacts them because they themselves don't put in any effort either or DD's just as negative as he sounds on stream. He really just needs to pick a lane and stick with it.
