Well he and the gang spent plenty of time shitting all over let's players as lazy, unoriginal, and uncreative retards while coping that his lets plays were just a side gig to fund the main projects. And that was over 10 years ago. During sleepycabin, which itself was supposed to be a side gig that funded the main projects. And look how that worked out.

So I could see it. He's a talented VA, animator and a multi instrument musician, yet he makes his living playing video games and hawking low effort merch to redditors while doing bit things for his friends projects.
But that's cope. I think Chris has plenty of ambition but the reality of just how hard the shit he wants to do is hit him like a brick.

He probably is overly comfortable with the set up though. When all you gotta do to pay the bills is record a few hours of vidya a week and hand it off to the editors to splice into multiple parts to drip feed over the course of months, can't blame the guy.

That’s what living it California does to a man. It strips him of his morals and standards, forcing you into a constant state of survival.

I do wonder why Chris even lives in California anymore? It’s not like he owns property, he could leave at anytime. But what is even doing there anymore? Back when Hellbenders was a possibility and he was working with Arin, okay sure. But now? What reason does he have to stay?

Imagine the timeline where Chris doesn’t move to California and stays in Pennsylvania. Most likely would of joined up with Newgrounds. Wouldn’t of met DD & J in person. DD & J are never in contact with the Game Grumps group. Oneyplays would of probably been with Niall and Cory if it even existed. Probably wouldn't of met Veronica. Most likely wouldn't of met Lyle, Tomar or Adam.
