A public utility, but without the shame and disrespect that SHOULD be attached to being one. So even if Tom is good looking enough to keep her to himself for a few months, it wasn't meant to last.
I'm not sure why this concept is as difficult to understand as it apparently is. Look, if a girl is willing to cheat on her boyfriend to fuck you, it must be a massive ego stroke, I get that. But any relationship with her after that is bound to fail. In the mind of someone like her, you are the fresh new guy to cheat with and her boyfriend is the boring and lame habit she wants to get rid of. If you start dating her after that, you end up filling the last guy's shoes. Now YOU are the boyfriend, you're the lame and boring habit and she'll soon look for someone else to fill the 'fresh new guy' role with.
